Smile Foundation was formed by a group of friends, who are established corporate professionals themselves and wanted to make serious social contributions.

Formed in the year 2002, by a group of young corporate professionals with a philanthropic bent of mind, Smile Foundation finds innovative solutions to social issues in alignment with the business needs of companies and willingness of goodhearted individuals and institutions across the globe.

Since 2002 Smile has been working in the areas of children education, livelihood for the youth, healthcare in rural villages, urban slums, women empowerment and sensitization of the privileged masses. Smile has successfully reached out to over 2 million beneficiaries across 24 states in the country.

Smile Foundation Vision:

As a catalyst to bring changes in the lives of millions of children, youth and women, who are not privileged, by addressing the real need at the grassroots level and also enabling the civil society across the world to engage proactively in the change process following the philosophy of Civic Driven Change and adopting the highest standard of governance and thereby emerging as a leading knowledge and technology driven, innovative and scalable international development organization from India.

Smile Foundation Mission:

Smile Foundation is to empower underprivileged children and youth through relevant education, innovative healthcare and market-focused livelihood programmes. Smile to deploy best possible methodology and technology for achieving ideal SROI (social return on investment), to practice and promote good governance. To link business competitiveness of the corporate with social development initiatives, also to sensitize privileged children, youth and citizens in general to promote Civic Driven Change.

Smile Foundation is managed by a Board of Advisors which represents individuals from varied backgrounds and expertise. The body is formed for a period of one year and a few independent members with eminence and reputation are nominated each year. Members of the board meet quarterly.

Following are the Board Members:

Mr. Santanu Mishra an Associate Member of ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India), is an Alumni of Indian Institute of Management (IIM-A). and also holds a degree in law, he specializes in Enterprise Transformation, strategies and Scaling up.

Mr. Yogesh Jagia, is a Lawyer by profession with specialization in economic laws and practices in Delhi High Court & Supreme Court of India.

Mr. Praveen Gupta is a Masters in Business & Economics (MBE) from Delhi University. He advices the top corporate houses in India on various strategic issues.

Mr. Nesar Ahmad, is an fellow member of ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India). He specializes in Company Secretarial services, Corporate Laws, Business Re-structuring, Merger & Amalgamation, Merchant Banking and Legal Matters. At present, Mr. Ahmed is the President of the ICSI.
