UAE Exchange Joins Hands with YMCA to Help Government School Girl Students

Kochi, Kerala, India, Thursday, July 05, 2012 -- (Business Wire India) -- UAE Exchange and YMCA distributed notebooks to students of the Government Girls High School, Ernakulam, on 5th July 2012 in a function held at the school auditorium.

Dr V George Antony, Country Head-India, UAE Exchange, was the Chief Guest. The function was attended by Mr Thomas V Alex, Chairman, YMCA South Area Branch, Mr. J Oommen, General Secretary YMCA, and Dr. Ashok Cherian Koshy, Head Corporate Communication UAE Exchange.

In his inaugural speech, Dr V George Antony exhorted the children not to think of themselves to be poor, instead to be rich in their minds and in their dreams. Citing the success story of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, he asked the students to defeat their poor condition with will power and focus on their dreams. He challenged the students to make their school No.1 in Kerala by fetching good results in their exams by their hard work. He also added that UAE Exchange will meet the expenses of the water tanks for the school to ensure the uninterrupted supply of drinking water for the students and will also provide food for the students who attend the special coaching classes after the school hours.

After the speech Dr V George Antony inaugurated the distribution of notebooks to the students and it was received with lots of cheer and happiness from the students gathered in the auditorium. Mr Radhakrishnan, Hindi teacher, commented that poverty and lack of even basic amenities hinders the students from concentrating on their studies.
