Apart from providing coaching to enrolled students under certified faculties, BSE Institute will also help these students by providing hands-on assistance for internship and final placement.

Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Nair, Head Academics and Product Development at BSE Institute said, “Financial managers cannot operate in a vacuum—they make decisions within a large and complex financial environment. This environment includes financial markets and institutions, tax and regulatory policies, and the state of the Indian economy. The environment we are present in determines the available financial alternatives and affects the outcomes of various decisions, both. Thus, it is crucial that financial managers have a good understanding of the environment in which they operate. Currently most formal qualifications at both, the undergraduate and postgraduate level, are very academic in nature and do not provide the in-depth understanding required to make sound decisions. The Global Financial Market Professional (GFMP) program has been created to fill this lacuna. This program is designed, developed, and delivered by industry professionals to ensure that students get the desired exposure to edify them about current market practices.”

Dr. A. A. Rashid, Principal at Tolani College of Commerce said “The needs of today’s industry are very dynamic. Thus, our education system too has to adapt to these requirements. Education needs to go beyond class room teaching to make students ready to face challenges of the real world and also to make them proficient to survive, sustain and conquer in their field of choice. We are very glad to launch the Global Financial Market Professional (GFMP) program in collaboration with BSE Institute for the academic year 2015-16. This specialized program along with their regular courses for graduation will provide them with a blend of the basic knowledge of the subject in question along with the desired professional skills, which will help them to choose their futuristic career path. This will enable the students to be job-ready from the day they graduate and will be a preferred choice by recruiters. We look forward to the successful growth and development of the students with the help of this course, and we are sure to set a superior bench mark to achieve excellence.”

Seminar on Success Tips for Civil Service Aspirants

IN · · Leave a Comment
Civil Service Aspirants
Patna 11 August 2015 : Chanakya I.A.S Academy conducted a seminar today at Shri Krishna Memorial Auditorium Patna. The purpose of the event was to motivate the students while keeping them aware of the changes, and further helping them by removing their dilemmas that might hinder their path to success.

With a goal to spread clear understanding and knowledge about Civil Services Examination to the students who aspire to be a part of Civil Services, The seminar was organized under the guidance of AK Mishra, the managing director of Chanakya IAS Academy, who is fondly known as “Success Guru” amongst his students.

Chanakya IAS Academy also invited its successful candidate to share their experience and provide success tips and right guidance to the participated Civil Service Aspirants. The Successful candidates shared information about the latest changes in the UPSC, right books and methodology, level of syllabus, time required, marking scheme, medium of answering and put to rest several doubts.

However, it was Success Guru AK Mishra who with his vast experience and sharp insight dispelled the most commonly believed myths related to civil services. With facts and figures he proved that there is in fact no need to be intimidated by the large number of candidates appearing for the examination. He emphasized upon the need to think like an officer while preparing for the examination.

A.K. Mishra, The director of Chanakya I.A.S Academy and success guru gave success tips to numerous students who were involved in the seminar. He further stated in the seminar, titled the "Art of Success', that “the nature of Civil Services Examination compared with other university examinations is entirely different. In reality, civil services exams should not be concerned with the preparations of the subjects rather aspirants should be focusing on being a better Administrator. For students to achieve success, the essence should be hard work, self confidence, goal setting, time management and energy management among many other things.”

According to him, it’s surreal for parents to see their child as an IAS or PCS officer although the incredulous environment is a recurring motif in their academic life which leads to discontentment in the aspirants mind often resulting them to wander away from their goals. This to a great extent results in students giving up their dreams. He believes guiding them properly and motivating them could amount to extraordinary results. This is the reason why IAS academy invented the “Art of the Success” programme so that students can overcome their skepticism and achieve success.

Truly an enlightening experience; the seminar left the audience wanting for more. He concluded the seminar by stressing upon the fact that civil services examination is much more than the test of knowledge; it’s about the application and correct inference.

While reflecting on the issue of quality she said that the concern of quality in education would remain the centre stage of deliberations of each country of the Commonwealth as a key parameter for sustainable development and therefore there is a need to create a platform to share both the resources and the best practices.

The Union Human Resource Development Minister has made five major offers which were readily embraced by all the participating countries. She announced that India would set up The Malviya Commonwealth Chair for Cross Border Teacher Education which will focus on issues pertaining to curriculum development, pedagogy, student assessment, pre-service and in-service teacher training and capacity development. She also proposed to set up a Commonwealth Consortium for Research which can function in collaboration with the Commonwealth Education hub and provide cross funding for research projects which member nations deem appropriate. She also announced that India would provide its e-Learning platform SWAYAM to host e-courseware developed by Commonwealth of Learning. In addition she also proposed that India would post digitized materials of Commonwealth countries on its soon-to-be established national e-Library. Her contention about strengthening of public institutions to bring about qualitative improvements in education at all levels was greatly appreciated by the member countries. These specific announcements of the Union Minister became the part of Nassau Declaration which was unanimously adopted by the member countries.

India's active participation was greatly appreciated by the member countries as also by the Secretary General of the Commonwealth as well as by the Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth of Learning. The Commonwealth Secretary General Mr. Kamlesh Sharma commended India for its generosity in coming forward with innovative ideas and practical financial support for increased Commonwealth collaboration on teacher education and research. Meritnation.com offers Report Card App for 92,00,000 Parents

19 May 2015 - New Delhi: Meritnation.com, India’s largest online learning platform has launched the “Report Card” app which gives a continuously updated real time digital report on a student’s progress. Over 92,00,000 parents of students on Meritnation’s platform can use the Android app to stay updated on the progress their children are making in their studies.

What is the problem that this app solves for parents?
1. Infrequent Updates: Typically in Schools, progress reports are shared after exams or during PTMs. This infrequent reporting structure means, that gaps in a student's learnings are identified post facto. In today’s fast-paced learning environment it becomes difficult to go back & fill these gaps.
2. In supplementary modes of learning like Tutions, the problem is even bigger with very little communication between the Tuition teacher & Parents.
3. Typically the process of helping a child begins after s/he has received Bad Grades.

What does Report Card by Meritnation bring to the table?
1. Syllabus Completion: Helps you track your child’s performance on the goals you have set for him/her.
2. Recent Updates: See all the Study Material completed, tests taken & other activities that a student does on Meritnation.

Key benefits
1. Continuous Monitoring: Report Card gives every Parent a one click access to a complete report of their child’s academic activities on Meritnation. Now you can check whether your child was playing video games on the computer or actually studying.
2. Early Diagnosis: If you child is getting stuck in a subject or a topic you can identify that upfront with Report Card. With early diagnosis you can intervene & help your child overcome his/her difficulties.
3. Motivation: Report Card acts as a huge motivator because students now know that their parents can see all the hard work being put by them into studies.

Information accessible anytime, anywhere
The Meritnation “Report Card” app presents this required information in a simple, easy to follow digital format instantly accessible on mobile devices.
Pavan Chauhan CEO Meritnation said “Monitoring a child's progress and providing motivation by rewarding accomplishments, can be a crucial factor to improving a child’s study performance. ‘Report Card’ by Meritnation allows parents to partner with kids in their educational progress using the power of cutting edge technology on Meritnation.com.”

Since it was founded by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2012, edX has offered Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) from leading global institutions, for learners around the world. This is the first time that the power of the edX platform will be harnessed to help students earn credit on a global scale.

"We're proud to welcome ASU as an edX Charter member," said Anant Agarwal, edX CEO. "ASU has established itself as a new model for the American research university with a focus on inclusion and global thinking. This partnership delivers on the founding mission of edX: the promise to transform education while increasing access to high-quality learning. As with other innovative technologies in the digital space, so too will the Global Freshman Academy change the educational opportunities that will help people transform their lives."

The program differs from other digital immersion undergraduate programs in the following ways:

  • Course Credit for Open Online Courses – By completing the full series of eight Global Freshman Academy courses, students earn full college credit for 1st year; students will also be able to opt for taking individual courses for credit if they prefer.
  • Cost Effective – 1st year credit earned through Global Freshman Academy is a fraction of the cost students typically pay.
  • Learning Before Payment – Students may decide to take a course for credit at the beginning or after coursework has been completed – reducing financial risk while opening a pathway for exploration and preparation for qualified students who may not otherwise seek a degree
  • Unlimited Reach – Because of the open course format, learning takes place while scaling completely – there are no limits to how many learners can take the courses online.
  • Innovative Admissions Option – The Global Freshman Academy's approach is different from the traditional admissions process of other credit-bearing courses, eliminating such barriers to entry as standardized tests and transcripts that are part of the traditional application process.
  • Track Record of Success – This partnership brings together a globally recognized online educational platform founded byHarvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a university whose innovative online degree programs boast an 89 percent retention rate.

The Global Freshman Academy will offer a collection of first-year courses designed to fulfill a specific set of general education requirements. Upon completion of each Global Freshman Academy course, students who pass the final exam will have an option to pay a small fee of no more than $200 per credit hour to get college credit for the course. Completion of eight courses in the series, including several required courses and some elective, equals the requirements for a full 1st year at ASU – at about half the cost of the national average for a year of in-state tuition at public universities.

The general studies focus areas will include mathematical studies, humanities, arts and design, social-behavioral sciences and natural sciences. The first course, Introduction to Solar Systems Astronomy, is now open for enrollment, and starts in August 2015. It will be taught by Dr. Frank Timmes, an astrophysicist who focuses on nuclear astrophysics, supernovae and cosmic chemical evolution.

Two additional courses will be offered starting fall 2015, with the remaining courses scheduled to be released within the next 24 months. Human Origins will be taught by Dr. Donald Johanson, who most notably discovered the hominid skeleton known as "Lucy".Western Civilizations: Ancient and Medieval Europe will also be offered.

Because the series is hosted and administered completely online, learning can occur anywhere, at any time of day, any day of the week. The program is perfect for ambitious students who need a more flexible, economically viable model for their education that enables them to hold jobs, work remotely, and save money. The Global Freshman Academy will also allow students to get a jump-start on their college education while still in high school.
