Quizmaster Siddhartha Basu motivates the Students

The father of Indian television quiz shows, Mr. Siddhartha Basu conducted an inter school quiz competition at Suncity School, Gurgaon today. 33 schools of Delhi NCR participated in this competition. The competition was open to students from VIII – XII standard. 100 pairs of students participated in the preliminary round. DAV School Sector 14 Gurgaon, DPS sector 45 Gurgaon, New Era Public School Mayapuri, Chiranjeev Bharti School, Amity School sector 43 Gurgaon, and Suncity School Gurgaon were selected for the final round. In the final round, Kartikay and Pankaj of DAV School sector 14 Gurgaon were adjudged as 1st, while Ishan and Shubham of the DPS School Sector 45 Gurgaon were adjudged as 2nd and Harsh and Dushyant of Chiranjiv Public School were adjudged as 3rd winners.

The inter school quiz competition ‘Quiz Decathlon’ was organized by Suncity School Gurgaon at their school premises. The quiz hall was jam packed with students and parents to witness the show being hosted by Basu. Ashoka University Opens Admissions for the Young India Fellowship

The Young India Fellowship (YIF), a one-year postgraduate programme in Liberal Studies at Ashoka University, today announced that it will be accepting applications for the sixth batch of Fellows starting 20th August, 2015. This unique Fellowship, now in its fifth year, is one of India's most sought-after programmes and fosters academic, social and business leaders of tomorrow through a multidisciplinary liberal education.

The admission process for the Class of 2016 is divided into two rounds. The first round of admissions will begin on 20th August and will close on 15th December, 2015. This will be followed by a personal interview of the applicants commencing from 20th November. The second round of admissions will begin on 16th December, 2015 and end of 29th February, 2016. The batch size of the Fellowship has quadrupled in the last five years and so have the number of applicants. To meet this increasing demand, the number of seats has now been increased to 225.
The current batch has 198 Fellows, who come from more than 25 states and from diverse academic fields such as engineering, humanities, sciences, business, architecture and law.

Seminar on Success Tips for Civil Service Aspirants

Patna 11 August 2015 : Chanakya I.A.S Academy conducted a seminar today at Shri Krishna Memorial Auditorium Patna.The purpose of the event was to motivate the students while keeping them aware of the changes, and further helping them by removing their dilemmas that might hinder their path to success.

With a goal to spread clear understanding and knowledge about Civil Services Examination to the students who aspire to be a part of Civil Services, The seminar was organized under the guidance of AK Mishra, the managing director of Chanakya IAS Academy, who is fondly known as “Success Guru” amongst his students.

Chanakya IAS Academy also invited its successful candidate to share their experience and provide success tips and right guidance to the participated Civil Service Aspirants. For students to achieve success, the essence should be hard work, self confidence, goal setting, time management and energy management among many other things.”

According to him, it’s surreal for parents to see their child as an IAS or PCS officer although the incredulous environment is a recurring motif in their academic life which leads to discontentment in the aspirants mind often resulting them to wander away from their goals. This to a great extent results in students giving up their dreams. He believes guiding them properly and motivating them could amount to extraordinary results. Medical Colleges – Money Making Colleges

Why people want to opt for studies, professional or research in other countries than in India, our Mother Land? Because it is not the merit and the knowledge that counts when it comes to studies, there is something else that matters to these institutions - that is Money. Government has imposed many rules and restrictions regarding the fees structure and admissions, but they are just limited to papers.

Merit students are unable to get seats in the medical colleges because they cannot afford to pay donations in lakhs and crore. This is not limited to just one college, university or one place or state, this disease is spread across the whole country, especially to the medical institutions. Once two students were traveling in a train and they were talking about career and jobs and one of them who was a medical student said. If you want to settle down well in life financially there is no better business than education and especially medical colleges you open one medical college by doing anything and you are settled for a life time. This is a real incident and these are the real words as it is spoken by a medical student.

This is the impression that our system and institutions are conveying to our future generation, especially doctors. Medical Profession has very high respect among any other profession and doctors are considered equal to God because they save our life, but today it has become a mere money making profession what a pity. Colleges take money and give admission to students who do not qualify and have no knowledge, and when they come out as qualified doctors they in turn play with the life of the people.


They are qualified as doctors because of money but not because of the knowledge and the interest and respect they have towards the profession. Such people put people’s life at risk along with their money and imagine if such people go out to work in other countries what will be the reputation of our country? None of these things bother the Medical Institutions and Medical Universities. There are many meritorious students, whose dream is to become a doctor, they studied day and night and got the best qualified ranks that entitle them for a seat in medical college, but they had to face the hard truth that merit does not count only money counts.


A film was made on the same subject, where a poor student who is brilliant in studies and whose only dream in life is to become a doctor ends up committing suicide because he has no money to pay the donation. This is a film but there are people out there in real life who are living with the same hard truth unable to digest the hard fact and unable to do anything against this. When will our system and managements get cured of this disease of seeing medical profession as a money making profession only God knows.

If these people, who pay donations and earn doctor degrees, are the future doctors of this country there is nothing left to say. If there is an impression among the people that rules are limited only to books, it is because of things like these keep happening and it doesn’t make any difference to people who are supposed to follow them. Rules are in their place and we keep doing what we have to.

There is a high need for the things to change and more importantly change in the attitude of the people is needed, that earning money by any means is not the only thing in life, there are some things known as Morals and ethics, and we have no right to play with the dreams and life of the future generation.


It is because of this only reason that though there are many people and especially students, who are meritorious, talented and genius but are unable to do anything, and it is for the same reason that talented professionals try to work for other countries and students who are meritorious and talented prefer to study in other countries rather than our own country. Because there they look only for talent and knowledge and in turn encourage students by giving scholarships and offering them scope for research and development. Let us hope that a day will come when the educational institutions of this country will seek for real knowledge and merit rather than money.

FIITJEE students again shine in JEE results

Faridabad: It was a day of jubilation for FIITJEE, as students coached and mentored by India’s leading Institute imparting training to the engineering aspirants emerged at the top once again in JEE results.

Character or Qualification which is Important

There has been a big issue and debate in the TV channels in the recent days over the educational qualification politicians. This debate has been there since a long time and everyone has his own valid reason as to why this is important and not important.


There is definitely a point when someone says that the minister holding a post should have in depth knowledge or at least minimum required knowledge to discharge their responsibilities in a righteous manner and to be able to take right decision for the welfare of the people who have given them that responsibility.


Otherwise all the time they will be seeing things and hearing things from others point of view, and if the person advising them is not rightly equipped, then the people and the economy of the nation is what is going to reap the consequences. A minister for railways may not necessarily be a driver, or a minister for aviation may not necessarily be a pilot. But they should have the overall knowledge of the working of the ministry at each level and what is its role in the development of the people and the nation.


On the other hand there may be people who are not professionally qualified for the post or may not have the necessary educational qualification to run the post they are given. But if that person is of good character and has intentions only to do good to the people and the nation he may take help of people who have the required qualification and are truthful and do good to the people.


A qualified and educated person may be corrupt and may not be interested in the development of the nation and the people and may use the knowledge only to fill his pockets, don’t we see such people? On the other hand an illiterate or for that matter not so highly educated person, with character and principles may discharge his duties towards the public in a righteous and beneficial way.


So, character is more important than qualification in politics. But if people are lucky enough o get a leader who is of good character and at the same time educated and competent, there is no bigger boon than this to any nation.

A Farewell to Remember at ITM University

It was an emotional moment at ITM University as students and faculty members bid farewell to the outgoing batch of Engineering and Management recently.

There were mixed emotions among the final year students as they found themselves amidst the future calling and the pain to leave their alma mater. They, however, made the best of the last few hours at the University and were seen in high spirits, clicking pictures of every nook and cranny of the campus, faculty and juniors.

The juniors did everything possible to make it a memorable experience for their seniors. A cultural show was organized by the juniors and food stalls were erected to make their juniors feel special. They later thanked the seniors for their guidance over the years and wished them all the success for future.

“It is the time when we have to say goodbye to students who have been with us for four years. As my heart aches to bid them adieu, there is a hope too that the students will create a niche for themselves and bring a good name to the University. I extend my best wishes to the outgoing students for their future endeavour, hoping they will excel in whatever domain they have chosen,” said Prof Prem Vrat, Vice Chancellor, ITM University.

The juniors also gave their seniors titles as they were presented with a memento in the form a memorabilia.
