School and College Reunion

IN · · Leave a Comment
school days
School days and college days are the best days of any one’s life, funny incidents, teacher’s scolding’s, affectionate friends all these add up to unforgettable memories.

But as we grow up and go further in life we leave our old college mates, school mates and make new friends in work places and in social life.

But the friends we made in school in college we will never be able to forget and at some point of time when we grow up and are working somewhere we just wish we could meet them.

As we grow old and age the desire becomes even stronger we just wish that we could somehow meet our old classmate’s school mates and friends and relive those wonderful and precious moments.

No matter where you stand in life now you may be a millionaire or an official. May be now you are in a position where people just wait to have a glimpse of you or talk to you.

But still you will not be able to forget the old and golden days that you spent in school or college, you may have a huge social circle now but still you wish in your heart you would meet some old friend in your school or college.

Every person no matter how old he grows always cherishes those days that he spent in school or college. Reunions are the perfect way to get in touch with our old friends and to relive those precious moments again.

The innocence or may be foolishness that was there in that age vanishes as we grow and we learn the ways of the world and when we meet those people again we see a clear difference between what we were then and what we are now.

Many people apart from just spending time together in reunions also do good and useful things to the school or college they studied.

They accumulate money and give it to the development of the school or give a scholarship to the bright students of the college.

There are so many good things that people do and they make it a custom to meet every year.

So, re-unions are one of the best things that can happen in life and become the most precious moments of our life.

IN · · 1 comment
ITM University
It was an emotional moment at ITM University as students and faculty members bid farewell to the outgoing batch of Engineering and Management recently.

There were mixed emotions among the final year students as they found themselves amidst the future calling and the pain to leave their alma mater. They, however, made the best of the last few hours at the University and were seen in high spirits, clicking pictures of every nook and cranny of the campus, faculty and juniors.

The juniors did everything possible to make it a memorable experience for their seniors. A cultural show was organized by the juniors and food stalls were erected to make their juniors feel special. They later thanked the seniors for their guidance over the years and wished them all the success for future.

“It is the time when we have to say goodbye to students who have been with us for four years. As my heart aches to bid them adieu, there is a hope too that the students will create a niche for themselves and bring a good name to the University. I extend my best wishes to the outgoing students for their future endeavour, hoping they will excel in whatever domain they have chosen,” said Prof Prem Vrat, Vice Chancellor, ITM University.

Benefits of Trends and Technology in the Educational System

IN · · Leave a Comment
education
Since its origin the educational system under went so many changes according to the time, place and necessity. In the olden days education system laid more stress on the development of the individual, instead of just stuffing his mind with facts. The old educational system laid stress on the values and morals. Now all that matters is ranks, scores and success.

Keeping this aside, there has been a lot of influence of the changing trends and technology on the educational system. In the beginning Board was used to write, draw, and teach, then came charts, then projectors, then it was the turn of computers, and the trend is constantly upgrading itself with time.

Now is the age of Social networking and this has also made its way into the classrooms. Today students are creating YouTube videos; Professors are creating class room focused blogs, and even Face book pages. This way both the teacher and the taught are being benefitted using technology and following the trend.

Take for instance podcasts or online learning tutorials, people can learn and educate themselves, sitting at the comfort of their home. In addition to paid online classes and degree programmes some universities are offering free non credit online courses. To name two of such Institutes, Massachusetts Institute of technology and Stanford University are at present offering free courses.

MOOCs are a revolution in the way students learn, and this trend has its impact across the globe. These courses are typically free, and only require a computer and, of course, the internet. Another trend in educational system is Game-based learning; GBL can be anything from learning simulations, to using video games in the class room.

Game Based Learning is designed to balance game play with subject matter, and this helps students to retain and apply what they’ve learned. Although it’s still in the early phases we are sure to see games being used more frequently in the learning process.

So, changing trends and technology is becoming a helping tool for both the teacher and the taught. And in this process of learning, along with education students will make themselves familiar with the changing trends and technology. And this will help them to upgrade and improve in more ways.

IN · · Leave a Comment
College Students
It will not be a joke, if we say that today students have more stress than anyone else. They have assignments to be completed on time, need to prepare for exams, do projects, and what not.

Doing all this definitely there will be stress on the students. Well, then what are the ways to overcome this stress and to give out the best.

Following a routine will definitely help in overcoming stress, eating on time, sleeping on time and doing regular exercise will not cause stress. You can keep on working day long, keep some time aside for fun and relaxation, and make sure that you get sufficient sleep so that you don’t get sick.

When you have been studying continuously or working on a project at a stretch, take a break, doing so you will feel fresh and will be able to perform better.

Have small goals to accomplish and proceed step by step, if you have big goals you cannot accomplish them, so start with small goals.

You can’t be part of everything and anything; you cannot socialize, hang out with friends, go to study, and play your favorite sport. So, be realistic, and give your time for those things that are important and must.

If you feel stressed and think you are unable to cope up with the schedule, take help. You can ask your friends to help you out in projects, take the help or guidance of professors, and cut down on your other activities, if you think you cannot handle.

Usually, colleges have meditation and yoga programmes, so that students may benefit from them, you can join one of them, to keep your stress free and active. Keep aside some time for hobbies whether it is painting or playing video games with your friends, anything this will help you to overcome stress and feel relaxed.

If you find that you have a very tight schedule too many things to do and very less time, take a break, sit back and assess. See on which things you are spending how much time and plan things, learning time management skills will help you in this.

Take a note of these points, follow them, keep stress away and stay fit and active.

This is where need arises for fitness and well being. Diet plays a very important role in maintaining a fit and healthy life style. The need to take proper nutritious and well balanced diet is even more for the students.

Make sure that your diet is in balance with your activity, keep track of what and how much you are eating. Instead of taking only one thing, try everything; eat seasonally available fruits as part of the diet.

In the rush to go to college or just to make up the lost time students usually skip breakfast, but it is not at all good for health. So, take a balanced breakfast.

Drink enough water, it will help you boost your concentration and keep you hydrated. It is very tempting to take a cup of coffee or soft drinks, but the damage they do to the overall health is very serious, so as far as possible take then once in a while, for a break.

If you are feeling active and energetic it’s ok with your diet otherwise don’t hesitate to take food supplements or multivitamins.

Sleep is very important to stay fit and active, mostly 7-9 hours of sleep is enough, and don’t take coffee before going to bed, eat the food at least two hours before you go to sleep. Make sure that your room is dark and quiet before you go to sleep.

When you share the class room with so many number of people it is easy to catch cold and viruses if you are not careful, so follow some simple things. Such as, washing your hands whenever you touch your nose, mouth or eyes, or whenever you have been around sick person, stop sharing beverages and drink lots of water.

Private Educational Institutions: Good or Bad

IN · · Leave a Comment
In today’s time, private education system is the most profitable business one can look forward to. The more the number of single digit ranks, your students score the more you will be sought after by the more aspiring students, to get highest grades and ranks. And naturally the more the demand the more the prices, and no matter how much prices you increase, those will always seem small than the bright future of the students. So, well runs the business.

This is the reality, private education system especially the corporate colleges have made the educational system not more than a high yielding business. But even after all this commercialization, if the students and parents prefer them there are definitely, some valid reasons. They provide you with the best professors or teachers. Give you the best possible tools for education, all the hi-tech ones. You will be having the guidance of the best in the educational field combined with years of experience.

Students, study in the most comfortable ambience. They have access to internet, library, cultural activities, sports what not? The more the money they charge the more the, activities. So, is this good or bad? There are also some educational institutions that give vague promises to the parents and students, collect money and yet do nothing that betters the student in any way. It is not bad to charge the students for the facilities you are providing, and it is not also bad to take a minimum profit margin, as this is a private set up and does not run on charity.

But anything in excess is always harmful and the basis for running an educational institution should be value based. They should think about the, students their future, in what way they can provide quality education to those students who are brilliant and have bright future if guide properly. The thought should be diverted from, profit making to educating. And if we are successful in giving quality education, to students with minimum or reasonable fees, then definitely private institutions will not be bad.

The Maximum Class Size Should Not Exceed Thirty Students In

IN · · Leave a Comment
‘Too much of anything is good for nothing’ very apt quote in this context. The number of pupils or students should not exceed thirty in a class is a very valid suggestion. If the number of students in the class room increases, teachers will not be able to monitor the progress of students, properly. And it will also become difficult to know about and guide each student according to his or her standard.

If the number of students will be limited to thirty, in each class, teachers can give more attention to students, and take care of their studies in an appropriate manner. Encouraging large number of students to be admitted in each class is beneficial to none, neither the students nor the teachers or the school. The more the number of students increases, it becomes a difficult task for the teachers to regulate them or to control them.

If they are focusing on the bunch of students in front, they don’t know what is happening at the back, and becomes even more impossible, to know if they are following the subject. Or, if they are able to understand the subject, what difficulty they are facing if any. Teachers will not be able to do, all these things, if the students out number thirty in each class. Not each student will be the same in the class. Each students IQ differs, level of understanding and communicating differs.

It is the responsibility of the teacher to know in what way students will be better able to understand the subject, if presented or taught in what way. If they should be able to do this giving individual attention to each student is very important and is a must. And in order to do this, the students should be limited, and thirty is a good number to be taken care of. So, the bottom line is limiting thirty number of students to each class, is beneficial to students, and teachers would be able to play their role better, and do justice to their job, in this case.

Should home work be banned?

IN · · Leave a Comment
There is definitely a genuine reason behind, giving home work, and that is to allow the student, revise the subject that is taught in the school, and to allow him to practice, by writing or reading, so that, the student can hold a grip on the subject that is thought by the teachers, this way they are given a chance to contemplate and to understand the subject they are being thought, its purpose is definitely good, and to benefit the student.

But, anything in excess is definitely not good, as it is now a day’s, students have a very tight schedule, it will not be a joke if we say that, students are there at the home, during the night, only to have food and sleep, otherwise rest of the time, they spend, either in school or in tuitions or in extracurricular activities, on top of all this the load of home work is definitely a burden on the student. In this way, home work, instead of helping student to understand and to remember the subject, because of all the other activities, becomes one more burdensome activity, nothing more.

So, if home work is given, keeping in view the activities of the child, and the number of study hours he is spending, and all other factors, so that it will not be a burden, then definitely, home work is a beneficial activity, otherwise, it is best to ban it, when it does not survive its purpose.
