But … I Wish I could… Turn Back Time…

IN · · Leave a Comment
By G.Gayathri

Beautiful song by Backstreet Boys. Every person at least once in his life time would have thought this, I wish I could turn back time, it may seem impossible but I wish I could, and life will never be the same.

Usually this kind of thinking and thoughts come to our mind when we are not happy with our present state of mind and life. It is only then that we start looking back into our past searching for the right times and the good or happy times. Or to put it in a better way we want to take a corrective action so that our life would change its direction for betterment.

But we can only do that in imagination but not in reality. There is definitely one-thing in our hands that we can do make our life better and to feel happy in the situation that we are in.

Turn Back Time
That is to imagine our life from the point of view of future. Imagine yourself standing ahead in life five years or ten years from now, from that point of time if you think of today, how would you lead your life?

What changes do you want to make in yourself and in your life style? What kind of decisions would you take, and how would you utilize the time that you have at present in your hands?

If we try to forget our past, live in the present and think about our future life would always be full of hope and positivity, because it lies in your hands to create your future by acting in the right way now.

So it definitely makes sense to live in the present and to lay a good foundation for our future instead of pondering over I could have or I should have.

All the wise men of the world have said that real wisdom lies in living life as if you are going to die the next moment. Yes that is real living, living life each and every moment with no regrets or tensions because who knows may be this is the last moment and we are no fools to spend it crying or feeling tensed.

Right, so if you are a seeker of happiness and peace and want to live life full and complete, forget the past because it has already passed and has no existence and live this moment full and if possible think good and positively about the future because it makes sense to do so.

Safety in Closed Doors and Closed Hearts?

IN · · Leave a Comment
We feel safe in the closed door of our room or closed door of our house, we feel even safer in the four walls and the boundary of our house.

We have a sense of security when we are with our own family and when some unknown person comes we are afraid.

If we are left in an open place we become afraid we don’t feel secure. What is this safety that we are seeking in the closedness?

We are afraid of talking openly, we don’t want to open our heart and be plain and simple in our day to day interactions with others. Why? Because we don’t want to get hurt or we don’t want to get used by others, or even more valid reason because in that way things don’t happen in today’s world.

Safety
Knowingly or unknowingly we feel secure and safe when we build boundaries and walls around ourselves, whether it is a house or a heart.

We don’t want anyone to penetrate and share our space. Till the time there was only earth there was only the difference of races human and animal, there was only one race human race and every one lived together happily.

But as soon as people started building boundaries and boarders separation of people and separation of hearts started. My country, your country, my state your state, my language your language, my culture and your culture and the list is unending.

In earlier days people used to find safety and security living together and helping each other. Now a days we find it secure and safe in isolation and separation, whether it is humans or states or countries.

There is a huge difference in the times then and now and in the attitude of the people then and know. The lifestyle that we lead and the money race that we are in has hardened our hearts and made us seek safety and security in closeness, instead of being open, we are no longer free, we have imprisoned our bodies in the four walls and we have imprisoned our hearts in unseen walls.

But we have to realize the fact that real life lies behind those closed doors of our hearts and our houses. And the day we open our eyes to this fact and we open the doors of our heart, sunshine comes in throwing away all the darkness and bringing in new life.

Smile A Rare Commodity in Today’s World

IN · · Leave a Comment
By G. Gayathri

We keep hearing about the scarcity of water, food and other things above all these things there is a severe scarcity of the unseen but most precious and important things in today’s life and world those are, smile, peace of mind and happiness. Most of the times we see only long faces, and rarely a smiling and pleasant and peaceful face.

Yes, every one born as human in this earth thrives only for these things, but today man’s priorities have changed and so these unseen and most valuable and essential things have become a rare commodity. Among all the creatures that God has created only humans can smile. But still we find it hard to do it even once a day.

smile
Marketing people stick smile on their faces because they cannot accomplish anything without that. A child smiles because that is his nature and he needs no reason or need to do that. Most of the times we stick a smile on our face only when we have to or need to, but when was the last time we smiled because we genuinely felt like smiling.

There is definitely one thing that is true that if we need reasons to smile and reasons to feel happy that is a rare thing to happen. Because life is a road with many twists and turns and it is always not possible that you are blessed with that situations and the kind of people that make you happy and make you smile.

But there is definitely one thing we can do that is to genuinely try to be happy and to genuinely try to smile because only fools can wait for the right time and the right reason to smile and to be happy. Even the research has proved that if you practice or keep smiling many times in a day you will naturally feel happy and positive, though it is not natural, what we usually do is we smile when we are happy or very peaceful. But if you want to be happy and peaceful keep smiling, this is what the research says.

So, don’t wait for the right situation or the right time to smile, keep smiling and things will turn out to be right.

Small is the Secret to Big Success

Small is the Secret to Big Success

If you are told that you have to stop consuming soft drinks for the rest of your life, you will not be motivated to follow that. But, if you were told to stop consuming soft drinks just for an hour, or for a day you will do it happily.

If you were told that you have to wake up early in the morning just for today no problems you do it. But if you were told to follow it the rest of your life, you will pay a deaf ear to it. This is the same thing that applies to success.

We make plans to change our habits and to work towards our goal but when the bigger or long term picture comes to mind fear takes us over and we stop taking action.

But the same thing when we divide into small portions, small goals to achieve in a day or in a week it seem easy and we do it with ease.

success
If you want to be successful in anything that you do you have to follow the same principle.

If I tell you that you have to make a million in so many days you become afraid, the same thing if I divide it into small portions and tell you to earn so many dollars in a week or in a month you will do it.

So, whenever you want to achieve a goal or want to make changes in your habits break them into small achievable goals and achieve them.

It is the small steps that you take that begin your journey towards success. So, make a beginning by taking small steps and achieving small goals.

Materialistic Life Not Good for You

IN · · Leave a Comment
Research Says: It’s not good to lead ‘only’ Materialistic Life

What describes a materialistic person? Always thinking of material things, properties, wealth, cash, gold, vehicles, and the list is just unlimited. Today he buys the best model car, tomorrow there is another one out and he is after it. There is no place for the word contentment in the dictionary of a materialistic person.

One desire fulfilled another one takes it place, one wish materializes another one comes up and the wheel goes on and on. So, frankly speaking a person running after the things in the world can never lead a peaceful and contended life. This is what all the spiritual persons of the world since ages have been teaching us but now research has proved this fact that those persons who are purely leading materialistic life can never lead a happy and satisfied life, reasons are.

Materialistic people always see what they lack and what they want to have, so they are never happy with, and are grateful for, what they have in life, this leads to lack of satisfaction and depression in life. On the other hand those people who are grateful for what they have and lead a life filled with gratitude have a positive outlook towards life and are likely to be more satisfied and happy with their life.
materialistic-lifeIt is as simple as looking at a half filled glass, one person sees that it is half full and is happy about the fact and the other one looks that it is half empty and is depressed about it. It is not correct either to completely lead a materialistic life and to avoid spiritual life and to lead a completely spiritual life leaving materialistic life. When we learn how to strike a balance between both, then we will be able to lead a complete and meaningful life.

So, want to lead a happy and satisfied life? Then don’t lead ‘just’ materialistic life.

Positive Attitude towards Work

IN · · Leave a Comment
Positive attitude is one thing that you definitely need to have if you want to have a great and successful career. At all working places there will always be people who will find faults with the work place and peers. They spend most of their time in gossiping and spreading negativity at work place. Such people are not productive and do damage to themselves and to work atmosphere.

At work place there will always be challenges that you need to overcome and move ahead. But instead of looking at the things that are negative and are obstacles in your path, look for solutions towards those problems and work on them. If you want to prosper in work you always need to look for things that are positive about work, about your peers and your boss.

No one is perfect in this world not even you, so why expect it from others. If you think there are some problems at work place play a positive part and see how you can reduce them and make the atmosphere right. Do your part always keep smiling if you are not used to doing so practice it and you will feel better and others also.

positive-attitude
When there is a problem look for a solution. Try to be professional in your approach towards work rather than personal. Give priority to work and professionalism, do your job well and contribute towards making others job easy. Always try to talk good things and positive things. Keep aside the designations and status and respect every one. This will help in a long way.

There are many people in the world who are unable to find work. You are blessed to have a job and a work place. Love the work you put your heart and soul into it and give your best. If you have a work for cheque attitude you will never be able to prosper. Instead look for all the good things in the work and you will get back good and prosperous career.

What is the Need of the Hour Preachers or Practitioners?

IN · · Leave a Comment
People most of the times know that they are doing something that they should not be doing. If we take the example from epics Ravana was a great scholar and possessed great knowledge, but what did he do with himself after acquiring the knowledge? One act of temptation ruined him and his entire kingdom.

Even in today’s time we have so many resources to teach us what is good and what is bad. We have books written by scholars, we have mentors, we have religious persons and preachers who show the path of righteousness. We don’t lack the knowledge of what is right and wrong, but we lack implementation.

Every one in the world follows a religion or a path of truth that teaches him how to mould his life for betterment. Everyone in the world is blessed with parents who show them 'what is right and wrong'. Everyone goes to school and educates himself so that he moulds himself into a human.

Preachers
Then why are we like this even if we listen to any one of the persons who are there to guide us or even follow one aspect of what we have learnt from our elders or gurus or from teachers our lives would be different. If we cannot put into practice that which we have learnt there is no use of accumulating knowledge.

If there would be half the number of practitioners of what is right, than the preachers of truth, our world will not be like this. We have enough resources to show us the way, and enough people to guide us, but what we need is courage to implement what we have learnt. If every one of us pulls up the courage to practice instead of preach this world would be changed. So, need of the hour is practitioners, not really preachers.

But if you take a look at the history all the so called genius of the world and leaders in their fields we the people who were most criticized, people called them mad and insane, what not but it is only those who [paid no attention to them and believed in what they thought was right were the ones who were successful.

So, criticism, is not what matters, what matters is how you react to it, take or leave it and move ahead to see success. So, let us look at some of the ways that will help us to handle criticism in a way that will help us to progress.

1. Know the intention behind the criticism, some people criticize because it’s their nature, some because it gives them happiness, and some people criticize you so that you can learn from mistakes. So, know the intention and leave the criticism.

5. The best way to handle criticism is to have self confidence. If you know what you are and what you are doing other peoples comments and criticisms do not bother you. So, focus on increasing your self confidence.

There is other side of criticism that it helps you to know your faults and gives you a chance to correct them. This happens when the people who criticize you are our well wishers or the ones who are bothered about your welfare. In such cases criticism helps us to progress and to go ahead. So, know the intention behind criticism and then accordingly take it or leave, but keep moving ahead.

Top 5 Practical Tips to Strengthen Will Power

IN · · Leave a Comment
Before we discuss anything we need to know what will power is. Will power is nothing but knowing what is good for you physically and mentally and then continuously following only that path without getting influenced by temptations, so that you can achieve your goal.

All of us know the importance exercising will power in our life, but we find it hard when it comes to implementation part. The only difference between those who exercise will power and those who do not is that, those persons with will power achieve success in personal and professional life, and those who do not end up as failures.

You goal may be anything in life and you may stand where ever you are now, but if you strengthen your will, you are sure to see desired results. So, let us get down to the point and see the ways to strengthen will.

1. Stop postponing and start acting, if you have been planning from a long while to wake up and go for a walk in the morning, but every time the alarm goes off, you switch it off and go into your blanket. Stop doing that, and start going out when the alarm goes off.

will power
2. Overcome conflict and win over temptation. Every time you are about to exercise will power you will find that there will be a conflict within you, the lower self dragging you down and asking you to do that which is tempting and is pleasurable and the higher self which warns you and in spite of your disliking asks you to stick to what is right and beneficial. Follow your higher self, whenever there is a conflict.

3. When you know you have to do the work, but you don’t feel like doing it now and instead want to spend time otherwise, in that moment itself get up from where you are and start doing the work.

4. To strengthen the will start making the small changes in your daily routine. If you are addicted to watching television daily, start by reducing the number of hours. If you have the habit of eating excess, start eating a balanced and required portion for the next ten days.

5. Whenever you are posed with a situation where in you have a choice to choose what gives pleasure and what is beneficial, let that which is beneficial to you be your choice. Every time by choosing what is beneficial you strengthen your will.

So, in any given situation look for the long term benefits if you exercise your will, instead of giving up for short term pleasures. When you keep this in your mind and start making choices, you will strengthen your will.

Enjoy What You Have But Aspire to Enhance

IN · · Leave a Comment
It has been a proven theory that contentment is the basic requirement to lead a peaceful and happy life. Because, until and unless you put a full stop to your list of goals and desires your running behind them will not stop and in the process of achieving them you lose the enjoyment of what you have now.

There is also another well proven fact that, until there is aspiration or desire there is no progress. Even in case of spirituality only when you have set a goal and work towards achieving it you have progress, otherwise you remain where you are.

So, which is good, to be contended with what we have or to aspire for more and to be a part of race that knows no end.
aspire to enhance

Well the secret is to strike a balance between the both, and lead a peaceful life enjoying all the things that are there now and to keep working for those that you are yet to achieve so that you keep progressing.

If your discontentment is for your betterment and for the betterment of the others it is good to be discontent. If you are unhappy about the way things are and aspire to change them and give a new direction it is good to be discontent.

Big people, successful people, great leaders of all times, they aspired for more and did not stop working progressing.

So, cherish and enjoy what you are blessed with now do not have any complaints about them. Think that whatever you are and how ever you are it is because of a reason and for your own betterment. Then aspire to become that which you want to and accepting the present things put your foot towards the future.

Affirmations and Their Benefits

IN · · Leave a Comment
Affirmations are positive statements modeled for a specific outcome, and which are repeated again and again until they are imprinted in our mind and the desired result is achieved. Knowingly or unknowingly we all give affirmations to ourselves, but most of the times the negative ones.

Say, I am not good at this, I cannot do this, I have such problems, and our mind accepts those statements to be true and those same words and affirmations that we give to our mind manifest as real life situations. There are some more statements that are given to us by others, you are not worth it, you cannot accomplish this, all these are again negative affirmations, and if we empower them by thinking about them then, you manifest them.

So, if you want to see positive outcome in your life you have to pay attention to your affirmations. When doing a work are you affirming to yourself that yes I can do this I blessed with all the skills and will see success. Or are you discouraging and demotivating yourself by saying that I cannot do this. Both the cases affirmation works but one for a positive outcome and for your benefit and the other against you and give negative results.

affirmations
Our mind is like a computer, if we need to achieve specific and desired positive result, we need to program it accordingly. You give positive affirmations and suggestions you get positive result, and you feed it with the negative ones you get the same result. So, first you need to gain control over your thoughts and then need to rearrange them according to the result that you desire.

These affirmations if used repeatedly, regularly and with focus and faith they have the capability of changing your life forever. Because they influence your subconscious mind and thus transform you in every way. To get the best results out of affirmations, you need to keep up the positive thinking about the desired result throughout the day, because if you give positive affirmations for 5 minutes and then rest of the hours during day you keep yourself occupied with negative affirmations it’s not going to work. It’s like taking 5 steps for word and walking backwards rest of the time.

So, consistent positive thinking and continuous positive affirmations are absolutely necessary to lead a successful and happy life.
