Top 5 Practical Tips to Strengthen Will Power

IN · · Leave a Comment
Before we discuss anything we need to know what will power is. Will power is nothing but knowing what is good for you physically and mentally and then continuously following only that path without getting influenced by temptations, so that you can achieve your goal.

All of us know the importance exercising will power in our life, but we find it hard when it comes to implementation part. The only difference between those who exercise will power and those who do not is that, those persons with will power achieve success in personal and professional life, and those who do not end up as failures.

You goal may be anything in life and you may stand where ever you are now, but if you strengthen your will, you are sure to see desired results. So, let us get down to the point and see the ways to strengthen will.

1. Stop postponing and start acting, if you have been planning from a long while to wake up and go for a walk in the morning, but every time the alarm goes off, you switch it off and go into your blanket. Stop doing that, and start going out when the alarm goes off.

will power
2. Overcome conflict and win over temptation. Every time you are about to exercise will power you will find that there will be a conflict within you, the lower self dragging you down and asking you to do that which is tempting and is pleasurable and the higher self which warns you and in spite of your disliking asks you to stick to what is right and beneficial. Follow your higher self, whenever there is a conflict.

3. When you know you have to do the work, but you don’t feel like doing it now and instead want to spend time otherwise, in that moment itself get up from where you are and start doing the work.

4. To strengthen the will start making the small changes in your daily routine. If you are addicted to watching television daily, start by reducing the number of hours. If you have the habit of eating excess, start eating a balanced and required portion for the next ten days.

5. Whenever you are posed with a situation where in you have a choice to choose what gives pleasure and what is beneficial, let that which is beneficial to you be your choice. Every time by choosing what is beneficial you strengthen your will.

So, in any given situation look for the long term benefits if you exercise your will, instead of giving up for short term pleasures. When you keep this in your mind and start making choices, you will strengthen your will.

Our Ancient Scriptures a true source of Inspiration for today’s Human

IN · · Leave a Comment
inspiration
It would not be wrong if we say today hardly any of us “Live Life”. The fact is that, for most of us life has become a struggle, a day to day battle, in the concrete jungle. It is no wonder that we read news about students committing suicide, farmers committing suicide, employees committing suicide and the list goes on.

What is it that we lack today, that is making taking us to this level of hating life and choosing death instead? In the material terms today we are well advanced than our parents and grandparents, we use latest equipment at personal level and professional level to make our life easy and well going.

Our Parents and grandparents never knew the comfort of moving around in AC cars or going went on a holiday nor did they have any of the comforts that we enjoy today. But they were happy and lead a happy life; they even very well managed to bring up a generation of humans with spiritual and human values. What gave them the strength to cope up with life’s up’s and downs?

They never studied any of the self development books or management books, but still they managed to be good humans. What we lack today and what made them stand in life that day is our great Scriptures and spiritual way of life. They too had role models to look up to and to learn from and to imitate, but the difference is today we choose billionaires, millionaires and material wise successful people as our role models.

They instead choose the great Avatara purushas Rama and others as their role models. If we study the life of Lord Rama He is Perfect example as a son, as a student, as a ruler, he was born to rule but never had any greed for power. He happily went to forest leaving all the comforts and taking stand for truth and Dharma. His life was full of challenges and problems yet every time he took stand for what is right.

The truth gave him the strength. Likewise if we study the great epic Mahabharata, on one side we see the people who stand for truth and the other side we see selfish people whose only aim is to secure power at any cost. The Pandavas though born in the Kings family spent most of the time in forest, faced all kinds of possible troubles, but they always followed the path of truth and followed their inner voice and had all the good virtues. On the contrary kauravas enjoyed all the material comforts but were they at peace with themselves or with others we all know the answer.

If we study those scriptures and their life what is it that we cannot learn? We can learn to be patient and forgiving even when we have a reason to get angry. We can learn that if we follow the path of truth we can be happy where ever we are and as whatever we are. But on the other hand though we live life king size enjoying all the comforts, if our thoughts are not in the right direction and you choose the path that is not truth, then life is no life just a punishment.

So, living in today’s society to lead a happy and contended life we need to look back to our past study the life’s of great people. And then take them as our role model, a person who is a total human being in all aspects and in all the roles. Then, when we compare our life to those people’s life our life looks so small and our problems look silly. Then when you hold the hand of truth and listen to your inner voice, life becomes a pleasant and memorable journey.

Does Pressure motivate or demotivate?

IN · · Leave a Comment
As humans we all experience pressure in our life, either in personal or professional or both. Some people, who are more successful and greater in life when compared to others, turn pressure into strength. While for most of the other people it is a thing which pulls them even more down and takes away all the strength.

Cricket a game that most people love in India, in that game we see that when a team is under pressure to achieve its target. Some of the players do extremely well, they handle pressure and live up to the expectations of the team and achieve their goal. While in the same team there will be some other players when under pressure cannot give even normal or average performance.

These are the kind of people who cannot give their best when under pressure. The same applies in our life also whether professional or personal. People, who can handle challenges and pressure, can think rightly even in that times are the people who have learnt how to turn pressure into a positive strength. These are the people who will see success in any field they are and in every aspect of their life.

There are majority of people who under pressure get demotivated get all kinds of negative thoughts and just with draw from life. If we study the life of all great and successful people there is only one difference between them and us. That is they have faced challenges and learn to withstand them learnt lessons that they needed to and they bounced back into life with more enthusiasm.

If we also learn to take pressure in a positive way, you will feel happy that you have a chance to prove yourself because of that situation. If everything is smooth what is the difference between you and others. If you are to prove yourself better than anyone else you have to do that which others have not done. Pressure gives you such a chance to prove who you are and what your skills are.

So, next time when you are faced with pressure try and turn it into your favour instead of thinking it in negative terms.

Motivation: A Key Factor

IN · · Leave a Comment
Motivation
Motivation is the key ingredient that determines a person’s growth in professional life. A person who is self motivated, has far better chances to succeed, and climbs the career ladder fast than others in the race. A person with no dreams and goals in life and doing work just for the sake of work, and doesn’t love his work, has far less chances of growth. Everyone has a motivating factor that drives him to succeed in life. For some it is money, for some it is name and fame, for some it is love, it differs from person to person.

What is the motivating factor that drives us to work, that is the factor that is responsible for our success? But what happens usually is after some time, when we fall into a routine, we start losing interest in the work that we have started. This is the time when we have look into the reason that has motivated us to start the work. We need to contemplate, we need to get back to the roots and need to assess, as to what is it that we want from work what motivated us to take the first step towards the work or business.

When we remember this again, that key factor, that made us start our work. That is the motivating factor, that will lead us to the road of success. The performance levels of the persons who are self motivated and those who do work for the sake of work are entirely different. In each person’s life there will be some incident or person or dream that makes a person start his journey towards success in professional life, that is our motivating factor, if we constantly remember that factor, and then we will definitely succeed in professional life. Given all the amenities and a person with no motivation will achieve nothing, but a person with driving force from inside, and self motivated sky is the limit for him.

Your Thoughts Shape Your Future

IN · · Leave a Comment
‘As a man thinketh so he becomes’ is an axiom, that holds true to each human beings life. Humans are the only creatures that are blessed with the power to think. Mahatma Gandhi said ‘A man is but a product of thoughts’. Thoughts are the determining factors of our life; we can either use them constructively, for our own progress, or lose control over them and allow our life to get ruined. Most of us have a feeling that we have no control over our thoughts, but it is as easy to have control over them, once you have a check on them.

If we observe carefully, our life is nothing but a reflection of our thoughts, or to put it in a better way, our thoughts are the ones that shape our life. There are some actions that take place in the body without us having to control them, like breathing etc. There are others, which we think first, and then transform them into action. But every act almost most of them, have their first origin as thought and then get transformed into action. And it is our actions that determine our life.

Our minds are similar to computers; we all have different kinds of soft wares installed in our minds, that are different kind of thoughts or thinking patterns, in our minds. You install different kinds of soft wares to perform different kinds of activities. Likewise we need to adapt the kind of thinking process or thoughts, to achieve different kind of results. If you want to be successful and happy, you need to have thoughts that coincide with them, if you want to be rich; your thoughts should be like that of a rich person. If you want to be a pioneer or a topper in your field, your thoughts should be like the one.

So, first determine what you want to be, how you want to be, then check your thoughts, if your thoughts coincide with the kind of results you want to produce well and good if not you to re install and replace your software, with the kind of output you want. As simple as that, once you know, how you can shape your thoughts to help you achieve your goals, believe me my friend the whole world is yours. Because ‘Thoughts determine actions, and actions determine your life’ so, have a check on your thoughts, to have a check on your life.
