Your Thoughts Shape Your Future

IN · · Leave a Comment
‘As a man thinketh so he becomes’ is an axiom, that holds true to each human beings life. Humans are the only creatures that are blessed with the power to think. Mahatma Gandhi said ‘A man is but a product of thoughts’. Thoughts are the determining factors of our life; we can either use them constructively, for our own progress, or lose control over them and allow our life to get ruined. Most of us have a feeling that we have no control over our thoughts, but it is as easy to have control over them, once you have a check on them.

If we observe carefully, our life is nothing but a reflection of our thoughts, or to put it in a better way, our thoughts are the ones that shape our life. There are some actions that take place in the body without us having to control them, like breathing etc. There are others, which we think first, and then transform them into action. But every act almost most of them, have their first origin as thought and then get transformed into action. And it is our actions that determine our life.

Our minds are similar to computers; we all have different kinds of soft wares installed in our minds, that are different kind of thoughts or thinking patterns, in our minds. You install different kinds of soft wares to perform different kinds of activities. Likewise we need to adapt the kind of thinking process or thoughts, to achieve different kind of results. If you want to be successful and happy, you need to have thoughts that coincide with them, if you want to be rich; your thoughts should be like that of a rich person. If you want to be a pioneer or a topper in your field, your thoughts should be like the one.

So, first determine what you want to be, how you want to be, then check your thoughts, if your thoughts coincide with the kind of results you want to produce well and good if not you to re install and replace your software, with the kind of output you want. As simple as that, once you know, how you can shape your thoughts to help you achieve your goals, believe me my friend the whole world is yours. Because ‘Thoughts determine actions, and actions determine your life’ so, have a check on your thoughts, to have a check on your life.

What Discipline Means?

IN · · Leave a Comment
We all have different kinds of goals that we want to achieve in life, and we also need to follow a particular set of behavior that helps us reach our goal, this is discipline. If you want to be a good sports person, you have a fixed schedule and a way of life that you need to adapt, right from the food you eat, the time you sleep, everything is to be laid in such a fashion, that it helps you to achieve your goal. If you are traveling somewhere, you follow a particular route map that allows you to reach the place safely and at the earliest, this is a discipline you follow.

Like wise, at each and every stage of life, we follow different patterns of life that helps us achieve our objective, when you are a student your lane of discipline is different, when you become a bread earner it again differs. But in spite of the stage you are in, it is a must for us to discipline our life style in accordance with our goals. Because without discipline, you will not be sure as to where, when and how, you will reach your goal. Discipline in personal life is very important for any person, and is the basis for any kind of goal you want to achieve in your life.

If you follow a disciplined and laid out schedule every day, that helps you keep fit mentally and physically, it means you have control over your life and its activities. When you have control over your day to day activities, and determine what and how you do things, it means that, you are the creator of your own life and its events. So fix your goals and the way you want to reach them, adapt the kind of life style that coincides with your goals, and you can be sure of achieving them.

Add Life to Your Years

IN · · Leave a Comment
Most of us spend our life’s valuable time, as if we are living in trans. We don’t wake up to the reality of life, until we are lying on the death bed. Then in our last moments we regret enough, and really wonder! What we have been doing all our life? All our life we slog like anything just to accumulate all that we want, and we are not sure also, as to, if we will be alive to enjoy all that. There is nothing wrong in planning for a better tomorrow for ourselves, and for those who are dependent on us, but the most important fact is that, in our preparation for better tomorrow, we are forgetting to live today, plan for tomorrow but live for today.

The essence of the life is, here and now, and that is how we should be leading our life. Living every moment, cherishing and enjoying life’s hidden treasures, and sharing them with our fellow beings. Life is meant to be lived completely, in every sense. They say that every human being has a purpose behind his birth, and when we know that purpose and spend our life’s years fulfilling that purpose; we can think our life to be complete. There is no purpose in living just for ourselves, the bare minimum thing that we can do is to live in such a way that our life leaves a positive impact on others and helps them to love their life.

We don’t need to do charities and start NGOs to lift our fellow beings, there are little things that we can do in our day-to-day life, that will leave a lasting and positive effect on the people we interact with. Greeting person with a smile, talking positive and encouraging words. Standing there for a person in difficult times, to whatever extent we can. And leaving every person we meet better, are the few small things we can do to make our life, and the life of those we live with, better and purposeful. Life is the most valuable resource we have, to live each moment as if were our last is the way we are supposed to live. How we would live our life we know that this will be our last breath, we want to be and do good, be happy and keep those around us happy, live each moment like that. Each of us are adding years to our life, but lean back for a while, and think, are you adding life to your years? Because life is meant, to be lived with life, and full of life.

Your Life is Your Choice

IN · · Leave a Comment
In the creation of God, all the creatures except for human being, no one has a power to choose how his life will be, such is the importance of the gift, that we have got, the gift to choose how we want our life to be. All animals live a routine and fixed life; they have no choice what so ever to do with their life, they simply follow nature from the moment of birth till death.

Human life is entirely a matter of choice, from the moment we recognize and gain our identity, I ness and my ness starts. Right from the clothes we wear, to place we live, the way we lead our lives, the people we move along, each and every moment of our life we are surrounded by choices, choices and choices. Most of us tend to think that it is difficult or a problem arises when we are left with no choice, but the truth is contrary, when we have so many things to choose and so many choices to make in life, we get confused and easily get mislead.

It takes really a wise person and a person of wisdom to make right choices in life. Let it be the question of choosing profession, education, friends and even life partner. We must be extremely cautious about the choices we make, sometimes you need to use to your head and at other times heart. Where and when we use these things again depends on our wisdom. The things to be taken care of while making a choice is, you should have complete knowledge of the thing or the person or the situation you choose to most extent at least, after that you should be able to analyze the effects and consequences of the choices you make. And once having made the choice you should not look back, and go along with the positive aspects. That makes your life easy.

You can choose to eat healthy and live healthy, you can choose to read and see good and make your life good, you can choose to be surrounded by happy and successful and will become so. So in essence what you choose each second will determine your life. Choose wise and live wise.

Human body - how to treat?

IN · · Leave a Comment
Like all the natural gifts that God has bestowed upon us like air water etc, human body is also a precious gift that we have. But sadly, like we neglect & show careless attitude towards all natural gifts, we continue to show the same attitude towards human body also.

Most of us tend to treat our body like the way we treat and use any other article or appliance. We tend to show negligent attitude under normal conditions and when something goes wrong, we attend to it and then get back to our normal practices. For all the articles or machines that we use, we have annual maintenance, scheduled so that it works well and lasts long. But when it comes to our body we tend to take it for granted and live in an illusion that nothing will happen to it.

But the truth is under the conditions we live in today, no one can ever expect, as to what disease will attack and when we will suddenly fall sick. So as we have Annual Maintenance for things, we should lead a disciplined life style, for us to lead a healthy life. Perfect health can be achieved when there is right balance in proper sleep, diet which includes qualitative organic food items and food supplements, right kind of exercises as per the body’s need and good and healthy mental condition.

It would be wise on our part to start taking care of our body when it is normal and healthy, instead when everything runs out of our control, and we become helpless.

Fasting and its Benefits

IN · · Leave a Comment
To go back to the history of fasting, the practice of fasting is many centuries old. It has been described in the Bible, in the old temples of Greece, Egypt and all Mediterranean countries, the sick were treated with the help of fasting. It has also been used to treat chronic diseases since ancient times.

People in so many countries have practiced fasting for the benefit of religious, moral, political and health causes. In case of India Mahatma Gandhi can be quoted as a person who has lived this. It is only since last few years people started believing that food is very important to maintain energy and fitness levels.

Fasting is not limited to humans alone, animals also fast when they fall sick or when injured even during normal conditions also. Fasting for the animals is of greater importance and a necessity for their survival. Some times during drought or other climatic conditions animals have to remain without food for so many days in such conditions they are capable of protecting their life without taking food for so many days.

For more than one hundred and fifty years health promoters and naturopaths have used fasting as a means to improve health and reduce illness and there are also thousands of testimonies across the world to prove this fact also. Only those who have little or no knowledge of fasting and its importance oppose it.

People who are conscious of their mental and physical well being should not ignore fasting, as this is an important means to improve health, provided you know when and under what conditions you should start and stop fasting and when you practice it under the guidance of capable and experienced guide.

For more details on fasting and its benefits please refer the book "Fasting a unique remedy for a hundred ailments".

Let's Protect Our Nature

IN · · Leave a Comment
Man is dependent on nature for all lifesaving sources. From the air we breathe, water we consume, food we take, everything nature gives us. Yet our attitude towards these most priceless resources is quiet shocking. Today we complain about everything in nature, natural calamities, imbalance in nature, extreme climatic conditions, no rains on time, polluted air, water, everything.

In earlier times, human life span was quiet long when compared to now. Because our older generations used to live in a pollution free environment and their life style was quiet complimentary with nature. In today’s time everything is artificial and far away from even thought of nature. So we are more prone to diseases and shorter life span, comparatively. If we think for a while as to who is responsible for all this, the answer will be, each one of us in our own small way. Hard to accept, but truth.

Right from the time we are born, we breathe in air, and with out it, we cannot exist even for a second. But still most of us, most of the times, behave as if we don’t realize its value. We cut down trees, don’t even think of planting and growing new ones, we pollute air with all sorts of gases and chemicals that we let out into the environment. In today’s life we are entirely dependent on machines of all sorts for every thing. We use washing machines, air conditioners, vehicles for transportation; all these things let out dangerous gases and chemicals into the environment and destroy ozone layer. We have become so addicted to these machines, that we can hardly imagine our life without them.

So many of us today are facing health challenges because of air pollution especially in cities, where the problem is peak. This is because too much of vehicle pollution, and every year the number of vehicles on the roads are increasing in a high ratio. People have really forgotten to walk, we prefer taking vehicle to cover even small distances where we can go easily by walk, today we see so many people obese this is one of the reasons. When we use vehicle even for small distances where we can go by walk, we are wasting oil, wasting money, spoiling our health and most of all polluting the environment.

Another important and most valuable resource is water. Water constitutes a major part of our body. You can live without food for some days but not without water. Most of the commodities that we use on a daily basis are chemical based let it be soaps, detergents, cleaning liquids etc when we use these and let go the waste water, it either pollutes the water it goes to where ever it may be river, sea any where. And if it gets dissolved into the earth, it makes soil infertile, or useless.

There was a time, when people used to laugh that water will be sold or you have to pay for it. But now in today’s time we can see people and even states fighting for water. As is our nature, we don’t value natural resources because they are available in plenty and free. We value money, because, we know how hard it is to earn, so we use it wisely. If such is the case for money how much more careful we should be, while using natural resources, which we cannot produce and which no riches of the world can buy. We can be the richest person on the earth, but if soil becomes infertile we will not be able to produce even a grain of food, if it doesn’t rain in time we have no water for agriculture or even to drink. So we should be thousand times more careful whenever or whatever natural resource we are using.

So better we wake up to the reality before it is too late for us to do any thing. If each one of us in our own little way, take small steps towards not polluting environment in any way and not waste any of the resources such as water, start planting trees, if not else where in our own home, when ever possible start covering small distances by walk, start using eco friendly, biodegradable and organic products.

These small steps that we take today, will give our future generations, a better, healthy and pollution free environment. So don’t look for some one else to start, because when each one of us, not looking for others, start, doing our part, the job will be done. Because it is only tiny drops of water that make a big ocean.
