Highest Indirect Tax Revenue collection recorded in April-Oct 2010

There is robust growth in the collection of indirect taxes recorded for the period of April –October 2010. According to the media reports, the collection of indirect taxes in form of custom duty, central excise and service taxes has been increased to 42.4 per cent

Rs 1,80,261 crores were collected as indirect taxes in India, the figure is 42.4 per cent higher from the collections made last year.

Custom duty collection grew by 65.9 per cent, Excise duty collection by 36.2 per cent and Service Tax collection by 16.9 per cent.
