Supreme Court quashes PIL against Kapil Sibal

The Supreme Court has quashed the PIL field against telecom minister Kapil Sibal over favouring Anil Ambani's company Reliance Reliance Infocomm, on Monday.

A PIL was filed by against Sibal challenging his favouring the company over reducing issue penalty of Rs 650 crore to Rs 5 crore. However, Sibal rejected that he had never favoured the company.

A bench comprising justices G S Singhvi and A K Ganguly hearing the petition said that if there was any irregularity allegedly connected whatsoever with telecom, it could not be linked to the 2G.
