The BPL survey commenced in the state of Odisha from November 14, 2011. The first phase of the survey of BPL families will be stated in the backward seven states.
The seven districts are Gajapati Koraput, Bolangir, Rayaagada, Malkangiri, Kalahandiand Kandhamal, where the BLP survey has been started. However, the enumeration will also be started in the rest district out of all 30 districts of Odisha. Due to the by-election in Umarkot, the survey was not commenced in the district of Nabarangpur.
