One killed in Police firing in Punjab

India News: One person killed in Gurdaspur, Punjab in police firing, while another person reportedly injured following communal tension over clemency of Balwant Singh Rajoana, according to media reports.

Rajoana is a convict in the assassination case of Beant Singh the former chief minister of Punjab. Curfew has been imposed in Gurdaspur over the clemency row. The tension began in the area following a bandh called by Shiv Sainiks on Thursday.
