
Supports the residents of Adarsh Palm Retreat, Bellandur, in fostering their social initiatives as a part of its continued commitment to ‘transform lives’
The Walkathon, flagged-off by Arjuna awardee Reeth Abraham, witnessed participation from more than 3000 residents and corporate partners
Bangalore, India: UST Global, an information technology solutions and services company for Global 1000 enterprises, joined hands with APR (Adarsh Palm Retreat) Charitable Trust to support the fourth edition of its fundraising event, APR Walkathon, held in Adarsh Palm Retreat, Devarabisanahalli, Bangalore on Sunday.
Adarsh Palm Retreat Charitable Trust, also known as ACT, is one of the country’s few charitable trusts formed from a group of residents of a single residential community that works with corporate entities towards social responsibility projects.
The walkathon featured 5K race, 10K race and Half Marathon and was flagged-off by Arjuna awardee and international athlete, Reeth Abraham. It drew participation from more than 3000 residents of Adarsh Palm Retreat, located at Bellandur and corporate partners.
The proceeds from the walkathon, equivalent to an amount of 35 lacs (including those received in kind), will be used to support the on-going social projects of ACT— in the areas of women empowerment, education and health.
Sudhansu Panigrahi, Center Head, UST Global, and Treasurer, ACT said, “At UST Global, we are deeply committed to ‘transform lives’ of the communities in which we live and operate. We have been working with various global and local organizations to co-fund and facilitate development programs in healthcare and education.”
Speaking about the Walkathon, Govindarajan Thirumalai, President, APR Charitable Trust said, “It is encouraging to see the residents step beyond the boundaries to effectively put to use the money they are raising and also investing significant time. I would also like to acknowledge our corporate partners like UST Global who have helped in this successful program.”
