Tech, FMCG, Capital Goods Stock pushed Nifty above 5050

On Wednesday, Nifty closed at 5056.60 points in green with 20.80 points up or 0.41 per cent snapping the three days losing steak.

The Tech, Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), Capital Goods stocks were traded up on Wednesday on broader index, Nifty. That helped the Nifty to close in green with 20 points up. FMCG companies have seen a good trading session on Wednesday.

On the flip side, rate hike concerns weigh high on the stocks related to auto and banks, leading to selling pressure on Nifty.

The Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex closed at 16840.80 points gaining 109.86 points or 0.66 per cent. In the intraday trading, the 30-share index touched low of 16708.98 points and high of 17000.38 points.

Investors were worried as RBI may hike the interest rate again during its mid-review on September 16, as the headline inflation for the July pegged at 9.22 per cent from 9.44 per cent reported in June.

Though the inflation is moderated but still its stood at more than the comfort label and around 9 per cent, which could be adverse for the economy.

FMCG Sector booms in Rural India: NSSO

The National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) has released the survey 2009-10 on household consumer expenditure on Friday.

According to the survey of NSSO, the FMCG sector has been booming in the rural India. As the rural India people have been spending more on consumer goods like durables, beverages and services for last five years.

It is believed that the high influence of advertisement may cause the boom in the FMCG goods in the rural market; however it was not confirmed in the survey.

Rupees recovers and ended at 44 against US Dollar

Strong foreign fund flow made rupee bit stronger by one paise in the currency futures market on Tuesday. The fall in Euro was however a concern for the market and investor but proved strong point for Indian currency rupees.

On Tuesday, rupees ended at flat at 44 per dollar. The rupees has also witnessed the lowest rate of 44.53 and highest of 44.28 in the intra-day trading at the currency futures market.

The demand for the rupees at the currency futures market has been volatile and depending on the flow of the foreign fund into the market.

Indian herbal market's impressive growth

Indian herbal market has been registering impressive growth rate. The herbal products from India are getting recognition in international market. According to media reports the herbal market would reach to Rs. 14, 500 crores by 2012. The government of India has also been adopting measures like setting up Herbal farm clusters for improving quality of drugs and promotion of exports, focus on research and development and chalking out marketing strategies for the effective marketing of the herbal products.

There is need for the promotion of the herbal cultivation in India, as herbal medicinal plants are found in many parts of the nation. The need of the hour is proper mechanism and effective execution of plans for the better cultivation of herbal plants. The truth can not be denied that Indian Yoga and fitness moves became popular in many foreign countries. The health and fitness matra from India has been drawing attention of western countries and this time has came for Indian herbal market to mark its success in international arena.
