Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is very important, especially for women, because women start looking older than their age because of various factors.

When you start hitting thirties and above, you will notice that you feel less energized and dull. To overcome this you need to take nutritious diet and should do the exercises that promote the better functioning of the heart and the lungs.

Most of us like spending the leisure time or weekends watching television. And eat something like popcorn or anything else just to pass time.

This is not a healthy habit, doing these increases your weight as well as the risk of heart diseases. So, instead of watching television just take a walk outside in the greenery and in the fresh air.

This will help you stay slim and fit. Or if you are so addicted to television that you can hardly imagine your leisure hours in any other activity, then take a break, in the break, and walk a few steps when ever ads come. Not a bad idea isn’t it.

It is very important to have a check on you calories, how much food are you taking, and is it sufficient to meet your body needs, or is it excess.

Because, as you start aging, you will keep gaining weight, if you eat left over’s, consume soft drinks that contribute to high calories, or start eating fast foods, and foods that contain high fats.

So, as you age, you need to start taking care of your diet chart, and replace tasty and mouth watering dishes, with healthy choices.

There are a certain nutrients such as iron and phytonutrients that a female body requires, to help in healthy ageing. So, eating a diet that is rich in green leafy vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds and poultry will ensure that you get these nutrients.

Take care of these aspects and you don’t just age you age healthy.

What is Health? And What are the Determining Facts

Now a days we hear a lot about health. But, do we really know what health is? According to World Health Organization, “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."

There are two aspects of health namely physical and mental health. Physical health or physical well being is a result of, balanced and nutritive intake of food, proper weight management, giving required rest or sleep to the body, and staying away from things such as alcohol, drugs, smoking and other habits that result in ill health.

According to WHO mental health is "a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community".


The health of an individual is affected by various factors. An individual’s health condition is determined by the environment he lives, his situations in life, and the care he takes towards himself, to maintain healthy body.

Factors such as, where we live? Our environment, individual’s genetical factors, an individual’s education, his income level, and lastly the way an individual keeps up his relations with his family and friends. All these factors determine an individual’s health condition to a great extent.

Person’s who enjoy good social status and economic freedom is likely to have good health when compared to those who are financially and socially weak. A study shows that People with low level education are likely to experience poor health where are people who are highly educated and those who have health education are likely to live longer.

People who have support from their peers and family members let it be moral or other is likely to have good health when compared to those who don’t have others support.

Any party or any get together and any lighter moments we share with our loved ones is not complete without soft drinks. Carbonated soft drinks are not only consumed by young people, but they are consumed by people belonging to all ages.

Soft drinks have become a part and parcel of our life style. We take soft drinks because we like them, or just to keep ourselves occupied in parties / get together and other social gatherings.

To state the truth consuming soft drinks is not at all safe or good for health. Studies have shown that people who consume soft drinks are more likely to suffer from broken bones. When compared to those who do not take soft drinks.

Soft drinks have a very bad effect on the teeth; they eat away the enamel of the teeth and intensify the process of tooth decay. Children who consume more soft drinks will have more cavities and as a result tooth decay, when compared to those who do not take soft drinks.

The Caffeine that is present in soft drinks causes high B. P, insomnia, and irregular heartbeats. The fact is that Cool drinks that contain caffeine do not quench thirst, so, the last thing you should opt for when thirsty is, soft drinks.

Time and again many researches have shown the ill effects, that soft drinks have, on human body, and have warned people to stay away from them. Many people make the mistake of thinking that, just because these soft drinks are sold legally, they are safe.

But for those who dig into the truths, and facts about, the ill effects of consuming soft drinks, know that just because these things are legal doesn’t mean that they are safe and good for health.

As an individual it is our responsibility to take care of our own health and to take care of our loved ones and children’s health. So, those of you who really love your own self and your loved ones, never allow these things to ruin the health.

Dengue Fever – Causes, symptoms and Precautions

Dengue is a mosquito borne infection transmitted through the bite of an infected female mosquito. These kinds of mosquitoes usually breed in tropical and subtropical climates worldwide. Dengue virus does not transmit directly from person to person, it is transmitted through infected blood replacement or organ plantation. The mosquitoes that cause dengue fever bite during the day time, early in the morning and evening before dusk.


The symptoms of dengue fever are:
  • Sudden fever with the temperatures from (40 degree C / 104 Degree F). This kind of fever is not constant; it is there one day, gets reduced and then comes back after one or two days.
  • Sudden headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle pain and joint pains are also some of the symptoms.
  • Swollen glands or skin rashes similar to measles. Are other symptoms of dengue fever.
  • In critical stages the symptoms may even be bleeding, or dangerous levels of low B. P
Preventive Methods:
  • Accumulated water and unhygienic conditions breed these mosquitoes, so the best thing to do is to keep the surroundings clean and hygienic.
  • Water storage containers should be emptied regularly should be cleaned and covered.
  • As far as possible it will be best to use, mosquito repellents and nets.
  • If there is any necessity to replace blood, make sure that it is not infected with virus. Same applies with organ transplant also.
  • Once diagnosed, what are the measures to be taken?
  • Water intake should be ample, and ors should be taken in short intervals. It is very important to see that the body fluid level is maintained.
  • As far as diet is concerned, it is best to avoid spicy and oily food. It is best to take food that can be easily digested.
  • Pain killers like ibuprofen and aspirin should be avoided at any cost. Because, they increase the risk of bleeding.
  • Blood pressure should be monitored regularly, blood test should be done as per need and follow up with the doctor is a must.
