Infosys positions as a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant

Infosys (NYSE: INFY), a global leader in consulting, technology, outsourcing and next-generation services, today announced that it has been positioned as a leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for SAP Implementation Services, Worldwide, 2015 by Susan Tan. This Magic Quadrant assessed 17 service providers.

The report states, “Leaders are performing well today, gaining traction and mind share in the market; they have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market. The players in this quadrant generally have a global client base, a track record of implementing complex SAP programs globally that support business transformation, and well-balanced business, process and industry consulting and implementation capabilities that are supported by rigorous tools and methodologies.”

In House Consultation

Consulting our own team of people to make decisions is a very good thing to do, there are lot many advantages of doing so. Consultation by conversation is one method. In consulting by conversation you identify an issue that needs to be addressed, think about them, develop alternative solutions, explore them and come to a conclusion. The advantage is that you have others point of view and others expertise, so that we can look at the issue from all possible angles and arrive at the best possible solution.


Another way of in house consultation is appointing a consultative team. When you appoint a team, the team gathers information, whatever that is necessary, to address the issue and analyses it. We have a pool of expertise in consultative team; each person in the group has his own view point about the issue and his own unique set of solution. When all the persons sit together discuss and analyze the issue, it becomes easy to arrive at a solution. Here, we have a possibility of generating new ideas quickly. And when a solution comes from the team it becomes easy to gain commitment from them to implement the solution as well.

There are two ways of appointing a consultative team, one is team meeting and the other is brain storming session. In team meeting, each and every detail concerning the issue is taken out and discussed, to the core. For example if you have a team meeting on a issue, should Ram do this job or not, then the team will discuss, Ram’s qualifications, skills, experience and then the requirements of the job what kind of skill sets the job requires and if Ram has them, each and every point will be discussed in detail, and then they arrive at a solution or conclusion. The other way is brainstorm sessions, where in the members can express their point of view and after discussing with all we arrive at a solution.

Consulting: in Decision Making

There are many advantages of consulting a team in decision making. Especially if he matter is concerning them. Involving people in the decisions that affects them, has a lot of advantages from the point of view of a manager. When you involve people in decisions that effects them it is easy to implement the outcome and the people concerned will have no objection to what so ever.

Not only this when you involve team in decision making, you can use their expertise and know their point of view as well regarding the concerned matter. More over not every ones thinking is same, the others thinking may be better than you, and may help you make better decisions, and this way your own thinking is enriched. The other great advantage of involving the concerned people in the decision making is that, it becomes easy for you to gain commitment on behalf of them, when you involve them.

So, involving others in decision making is the best way to arrive at a solution. For decisions hat effect your team you can involve them, but for others? Depending on the nature of the of the decision you have to make, you have consult the concerned person. There are kinds of problems that need expertise to arrive at a solution and then there are problems that need experience to arrive at a solution.

For expertise you can depend on the team, or a specific individual with the necessary set of skills that you require. You can also depend on those people who use the system or product that you need expertise on. Last but not the least; you can always depend on professional advisers and consultants to arrive at a better solution, regarding expertise. For the decisions involving experience, you can always depend on your seniors, mentors and colleagues with relative experience in the field.

This way you can always make better decisions with the approval of the people and get benefited.
