Working Mother Names CA Technologies to 2014 List of “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers”

Working Mother magazine today named CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) as one of the 2014 Working Mother 100 Best Companies for outstanding leadership in establishing policies, programs and corporate culture that supports working moms, including child care, flexible work arrangements, paid parental leave and advancement of women.

Companies are also measured on access to and usage of family-friendly program.

Wikimedia Foundation Raises $25 Million over 9 days Fundraiser Campaign

Today Wikimedia Foundation announced that it has raised $25 million of donations over a 9 day period campaign in 2012. 1.2 million valued Wikipedia readers have contributed any possible amount with the request of founders Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger during mid-November campaign. The Wikimedia fundraising campaign lasted for 9 days on the English Wikipedia site which ran on English-language Wikipedia in five countries (the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand). Here is how the advertisement read:

“Wikipedia is non-profit, but it’s the #5 website in the world. With 450 million monthly users, we have costs like any top site: servers, power, rent, programs, staff and legal help. To protect our independence, we’ll never run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations: 100 rupees is the most common, the world average is about 1500 rupees. If everyone reading this gave 100 rupees, our fundraiser would be done within an hour. Please help us forget fundraising and get back to Wikipedia." 

Wikipedia has been an ad-free information site which gets around 475 million visitors, which is possible due to the 80,000 volunteer editors, photographers and free-knowledge advocates that contribute to Wikimedia projects. As of now Wikipedia has more than 23 million voluteer-authored articles over 285 language. In 2011, Wikimedia Foundation fundraiser campaign lasted for 46 days, raising around $20 million and this year's campaign is surely successful one with more people donating to the foundation.

Wikipedia has been publishing unbiased and information content over the years and been running ad-free. We congratulate the people behind Wikipedia for this great success.

3rd International Conference on Information Security and Artificial Intelligence - ISAI 2012, 17 & 18th November

ISAI is the main annual Information Security and Artificial Intelligence conference, and the 3rd conference- a two day event is right now going on in Pune, Maharastra, India. While 17th November is only for Registration and today 18th November is the conference day of ISAI 2012. The idea of the conference is for the scientists, scholars, engineers and students from the Universities all around the world and the industry to present ongoing research activities, and hence to foster research relations between the Universities and the industry. This conference will be a platform for entrepreneurs and delegates to come up with innovative ideas, exchange information, establish business relations and find future collaborators for their research.

Wikipedia’s new Fundraising Ad to Continue its Uninterrupted Service

If you visited the Wikipedia today, then you must have seen a yellow message bar on the top with mentioning what Wikipedia is and how it’s been a non-profit organization running without advertisements. The message reads like this:

“Wikipedia is non-profit, but it’s the #5 website in the world. With 450 million monthly users, we have costs like any top site: servers, power, rent, programs, staff and legal help. Well, all we can say is that if you need to find unbiased information from anywhere then its Wikipedia and we should donate some amount for its smooth existence and future operations. Previously also Wikipedia founders Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger had made request to Wiki users to donate for the Wikimedia foundation. Wikipedia has been serving us as the uniformed informational resource for everything and everything genuine.

Please donate and help Wikipedia to help ourselves in getting good information all the way round.
