And what for it has earned bad name. The reasons may be many and for that matter any. A particular business may have earned bad name, because of the employees or because of the quality of goods, products or services.

Once you have found the reason. You have to work on the solution. For example, if it is the employee’s behavior or attitude, you have to take necessary steps, to correct the behavior. Are Indians less Quality Conscious?

IN · · Leave a Comment
Instead of saying that Indians are less quality conscious, it would be better to say, Indians are more rupee or money conscious. Poor Indians, really poor in economic sense and financial sense, what else they can do, ever increasing inflation, standard of living and hike in prices everywhere in all fields and areas, these are the factors that are compelling the common man, to compromise on quality, and to give importance to price tag, instead of brand.

I mean, who would not love to have qualitative things and use them, if there are available at affordable prices in the market, it is wrong to say that Indians are less quality conscious. If denim jeans would be sold at, Rs. 300 or Rs. 200, instead of Rs. 3000 or Rs. 50000 plus, every person on the street would be wearing denims and khakis, and mind you all originals no duplicate business.

The economic and financial position of a common man, or say a person with average income, is compelling to him to choose, less qualitative products. And there are many other factors that are responsible for such compromise, a bachelor with no responsibilities can think of buying an apple iPod or say No. 1, branded computer or opt to buy a tab instead of a simple mobile. Whereas, if a married person, or a person with responsibilities and dependent people to be taken care of, may think of opting for a standard brand or a simple one, instead of looking for the best one.

The difference is that, he cannot think of himself alone, he has to think of the people dependent on him, and he is accountable to them, for their future. Can you say that he doesn’t like qualitative products, that is not true. So, it would be wrong to say that Indians are less quality concerned, in my opinion Indians are more people concerned, and because of the love they have for them they are money concerned.

In India more money is spent in advertising than on quality of the product

IN · · Leave a Comment
Yes, because people believe that, to survive in today’s competitive world, it is a must people should remember the product, hear more about it and see more about a product, if it needs to be sold or purchased. So all the importance is given to the advertisement of a product, than to improve the quality of the product. Every day the market is flooded with new kind of products, people have wide choice, either in quality or in quantity. So, it has become natural to give more importance to advertising.

If we look back to the olden days, there were few products to choose from and those that were there in the market were qualitative products, people had no second thoughts in their minds to choose a product. The company or the organizations offering products also stood up to the expectations of the people. But things are quiet different now, today there is cut throat competition, in every field and even more in the fields concerning the sales of the products.

If there is any thing that matters, it is how the products would move in the market and how sales can be achieved and profits generated. And for all this to happen, the product should be more and more in the memory of the consumer, the more in his eyes and ears the product will be, the more the sales will be. This formula is right, the consumer purchases a product once on a trial basis, after seeing or hearing an add. But he will come back to buy the same product, only when he is satisfied with the quality. This is the ground truth, advertising does help sales of a product for the first time or in the initial stages, but if one is looking for a long term sales of a product, definitely, quality is what matters.

So, people looking for long term business need to concentrate on quality and people looking for initial business should concentrate on advertising.
