Suggestions invited on Land Acquisition Bill, 2015 by 8th June

The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Second Amendment Bill, 2015) pending in the Lok Sabha has been referred to a Joint Parliamentary Committee of both the Houses under the Chairmanship of Shri S.S.Ahluwalia, M.P. for examination and presenting a Report to the Parliament.

It has been decided to seek the views and suggestions from various public bodies, organizations, associations, individuals and other stakeholders. The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 and the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Second Amendment Bill, 2015) have been uploaded on the Lok Sabha Website (http://164.100.47.134/committee/other commiittees.aspx).

All those desirous of submitting their views/suggestions to the Committee may send two copies of their written Memoranda/suggestions either in English or Hindi on the subject to Joint Secretary(RS), Lok Sabha Secretariat, Room No. 328, Third Floor, Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi-110001 or Fax at 23018865 or e-mail them atjc.landbill@sansad.nic.in by 8th June, 2015.

The Memoranda submitted to the Committee would form part of the records of the Committee and would be treated as Confidential and would enjoy privilege of the Committee. Those who wish to appear before the Committee, besides submitting Memoranda, are also requested to specifically indicate so. However, the Committee’s decision in this regard shall be final. -PIB

Exposure from public figures on the platform has resulted in 1,000 to 2,000 new users each day. At present, it competes directly with formidable rivals like Twitter and Youtube. The factor that gives it an edge is that it enables two-way communication easily. The Questions submitted are up-voted by other users, so the most popular ones are seen and hopefully answered. Frankly’s interface also enables in-depth discussions to take place.

Land Acquisition Norms Amended, Welcome Step: Niranjan Hiranandani

The Indian Government has taken a welcome step on the issue of land acquisition norms, said Niranjan Hiranandani, MD, Hiranandani Constructions Pvt. Ltd. (HCPL). He was reacting to media reports about the Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on 29 December having approved certain amendments in the land acquisition norms. These seek to fast-track the purchase process of land, while bringing more projects under the provisions of rehabilitation and compensation of land owners.

“While the amendment has the potential to give a boost to affordable housing, it will also facilitate a scenario where infrastructure projects will be fast-tracked. For ‘Affordable Housing’ to become a reality, it will need time bound land acquisition and creation of infrastructure, which the amendment will facilitate. What is most important is that the amendment does not impact the compensation to farmers, while it ensures time-bound acquisition, it remains ‘Socially Correct’ while also being ‘Business Friendly’,” said Niranjan Hiranandani.

The amendments relate to Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, pointed out Niranjan Hiranandani, adding that while the Act came into effect from January 1, 2014; stakeholders faced difficulties in its implementation. “Among the welcome changes that the amendment brings about relates to faster processing. The Act resulted in a ‘prolonged’ process for land acquisition, and created a situation where the farmer was able to get benefit; nor could the project be completed in time for the benefit of society at large, explained Niranjan Hiranandani.

The amendments allow a fast track process for (i) defence and defence production, (ii) rural infrastructure including electrification, (iii) housing for poor including affordable housing, (iv) industrial corridors and (v) infrastructure projects; including projects taken up under Public Private Partnership mode where ownership of the land continues to be vested with the government. These projects would not need to seek the consent of 80 per cent of the affected landowners.

On the impact this would have on ‘affordable housing’, Niranjan Hiranandani pointed out that while it was clear that compensation to farmers would be high, it was obvious that the government intends to acquire land in areas where land prices are not high; and new infrastructure would be created to develop linkages to such new areas. “So, what we will see is locations which are situated at some distance from the Central Business Districts (CBDs); where new infrastructure will ensure better standards of living plus high speed transport to work places.

If one considers the concept of ‘Smart Cities’, it is obviously new areas where these will be developed – and the amended norms will help facilitate the same. If one looks at the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) for instance, the existing local train network has extended the ‘location’ of affordable housing to locations in the Vasai-Virar Region and the Karjat-Panvel Region. Infrastructure development in form of new, high-speed transport options like the Metro and new road links would create a similar situation for locations beyond Panvel and in the periphery of Alibaug; a major infrastructure project like the trans-harbour sea link between Sewree and Nhava would also make affordable housing a reality in these locations,” explained Niranjan Hiranandani.

The positive effect of the amendment, said Niranjan Hiranandani, would be visible as regards infrastructure growth. “The amendments will kick-start hundreds of billions of dollars in stalled projects,” he said. Pointing out that restrictions on buying land was among the barriers holding up projects worth almost US$ 300 billion in various sectors, Niranjan Hiranandani pointed out that about 50 per cent of China's economic growth was not just due to manufacturing; but also a result of the urban housing revolution. “As a result of the amendment, in India too, the multiplier effect on GDP will happen due to volumes in housing unit production, and this will enhance economic growth,” he concluded.

Congress marks 130th Foundation Day

The Congress party of India has celebrated its 130th foundation day in AICC headquarters in New Delhi today. Sonia Gandhi presided over a meeting of Congress party men in the meeting.


It is noteworthy, that the Vice President  Rahul Gandhi was not present in the party meet according to media reports.

This year the party has failed in Lok Sabha election and assembly elections held in states including Jammu & Kashmir and Jharkahan.


In those states, the party lost its base on the contrary, the BJP has gained its fame in those states. Even once Congress ruled states are now out of the party hands, and BJP formed government in those states.

In Odisha, the Congress party made some changes to its party leadership in the state, Prasad Kumar Harichandan was appointed the chief of state Congress unit, after return of Janaki Ballav Patnaik, who recently ended his tenure as Assam Governor.

The Congress party would try to exhibit its strength in the next elections, and the party leaders need to sort out many issues to make this more powerful in all the states and in centre as well.

New Delhi, Dec 1​6, 2014: Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari released a book on project management, authored by renowned subject scholar Mr Adesh Jain, that provides valuable insights into the subject, taking cue from which will help project managers across sectors to plan their work effectively.


The book, titled ‘Assorted Thoughts on Project Management’, is a compilation of the author’s thoughts and critical experiences which he has gained over the years while dealing with the subject.


“For any project to get successful, it is important that the nitty gritties are discussed, contemplated and solutions found beforehand so that the projects complete in a time-bound matter and projects remain economically viable. In India, projects are stalled mainly because there is no planning involved and everything moves in a very haphazard manner,” says Mr Jain.


The book is divided into two parts, first part of which deals with various important aspects of project management such as Goals-Strategies-Projects, Decision v/s integration, universal project management processes and New encounters, new experiences, among others.

The book released during the three day Global Symposium on Project Management in the national capital.

Mr Jain, the National President of Project Management Associates (PMA), was also conferred during the symposium the Lifetime Achievement Award by Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy in recognition of his efforts to create a project-oriented India.

Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister, my friend, Tony Abbott!

Congratulations to you and the people of Australia on a successful G20!

I am the third Head of Government you are listening to this week!

I don`t know how you are doing this! May be, this is Prime Minister Abbott`s way of shirt fronting you! But, I am truly honoured and humbled by this opportunity to speak to you.

I stand here as one of you - a representative of the people; I come to you with the greetings of 1.25 billion people of a nation, linked to Australia by the great Indian Ocean; by our connected history and our many shared inheritances- and, even more by our deeply interlinked destinies. And, today I have come to unite in spirit, as we were once by geography - spirit that is fed by many stirring stories of human success and sacrifice.

This morning, Prime Minister and I honoured our soldiers, who 100 years ago made the supreme sacrifice together in the battle of Gallipoli. The man who designed this beautiful capital of Canberra, Walter Burley Griffin, lies buried in the old city of Lucknow in India.

More than 150 years ago, an Australian novelist and lawyer John Lang fought the legal battle for a brave Indian freedom fighter, the Queen of Jhansi, Rani Laxmi Bai against the British East India Company in India`s first War of Independence. He also lies buried in the Indian hill town of Mussoorie.

The statue of Gandhi in Canberra is a symbol of our shared values.

We celebrate the legend of Bradman and the class of Tendulkar together.

We are impressed by Australian speed as you are charmed by the Indian spin Until of course Shane Warne came along!

But, above all, we are united by the ideals of democracy.

Today, as I stand in this temple of democracy, I consider nations such as ours to be blessed, because democracy offers the best opportunity for the human spirit to flourish, because we have the freedom to choose, the right to speak and the power to remove – and, for us in politics, with no option but to leave with grace.

Generations of people`s representatives have made Australia one of the great nations of the world today. From the vast stretch of territory to the abundance of resources, Nature has been generous to you. But, it is the people of Australia, who have made Australia what it is today: A beacon of democracy and rule of law; a nation that willingly leads the search of a lost aircraft; one of the most prosperous nations in the world;among the best in human development index; a nation with some of the best cities in the world; some of the most productive farms and mines; some of its best universities and research centres; an advanced technology base; and, a nation with great sporting skills.

Australia evokes images not just of immense beauty, but also of a great quality of life. Today, its cities are alive with richness of this world’s diversity. And, it is home to 450,000 Indians, who are as proud to be part of Australia as they are of their Indian heritage.

Honorable Members,

There was a time when, for many of us, Australia was a distant land on the southern edge of the world.

Today, the world sees Australia to be at the heart of the Asia Pacific and Indian Ocean region. This dynamic region holds the key to this world`s future; and Australia is at its cross-currents. And, as Australia has become more engaged in this part of the world, we welcome its growing role in driving this region`s prosperity and shaping its security.

Because we, in India, seek the same future for this world.

We also see Australia as a vital partner in India`s quest for progress and prosperity. There are few countries in the world where we see so much synergy as we do in Australia. India a nation of more than a billion seeking development; Australia a developed country of a few million people and vast resource. Since the turn of this century, India has been the second fastest growing economy in the world. Millions have lifted themselves out of poverty into a new life of possibilities.

Today, we have a government with a clear majority after thirty years. From the remotest village to the biggest cities, there is a new high tide of hope in India; a new energy.

It is the energy of our youth – the 800 million people below the age of 35 – eager for change, willing to work for it - because, now they believe that it is possible. That they can make it happen. It is this force of transformation that we will unleash.

In the six months that we have been in office, we have moved forward, thinking with ambition, acting with speed; seeking growth not just for growth, but to transform the quality of life of every Indian –

I see Australia as a major partner in every area of our national priority.

In providing skills and education to our youth; a roof over every head and electricity in every household; the most affordable healthcare for the most difficult diseases; the next generation of infrastructure that does not take a toll on our environment; Energy that does not cause our glaciers to melt - clean coal and gas, renewable energy or fuel for nuclear power; cities that are smart, sustainable and livable; villages that offer opportunities; agriculture that yields more and farms that are better connected to markets; practices and technology that save water.

We have a new Mission for turning "Made in India" into a global name just as Computer in India is. But, we want to find new pathways to prosperity, not simply travel down the roads of the previous century.

Much of India`s future cities and infrastructure is yet to be built and so we have a unique opportunity to make our choices now. And, in every sector – agriculture, food processing, mining, infrastructure, manufacturing, finance and technology, energy; from providing funds and resources to technology and expertise; working as partners and investers -Australia has immense opportunities to participate in India`s progress.

In turn, India will be the answer to your search for new economic opportunities and your desire to diversify your global economic engagement; your source for world class skills at home or for a manufacturing location abroad.

India’s development, demography and demandprovide a unique long term opportunity for Australia – and all in the familiar framework of democracy. There is no other example of this nature in the world.

Indian investors, too, are coming here in growing numbers and commitments.

Honourable Members,

This is an age rich in promise, but also filled with challenges.

We can only pursue our dreams, if we have the confidence that our cities are safe, our nations are secure, our region is stable and our world is peaceful.

This vast region has many unsettled questions and new challenges. Historical differences persist despite growing inter-dependence. The oceans are our lifelines. But, we worry about its access and security in our part of the world more than ever before.

Our region has seen huge progress on the foundation of peace and stability.

But, we cannot take this for granted. Preserving it will be the most important task in the region. India and Australia can play their part in it - by expanding our security cooperation and deepening our international partnerships in the region.

But, we do not have to rely on borrowed architecture of the past. Nor do we have the luxury to choose who we work with and who we don`t. But, what we do need is to work together and with others to create environment and culture that promotes the currency of co-existence and cooperation; in which all nations, small and big, abide by international law and norms, even when they have bitter disputes.

We should collaborate more on maintaining maritime security. We should work together on the seas and collaborate in international forums. And, we should work for a universal respect for international law and global norms.

We must also support the process of economic integration across the region and an open global trading system that remains integrated. We must guard against regional trade initiatives becoming instruments of political competition. However, economic integration by itself won’t be a strong basis for peace and stability, without strong regional institutions.

India and Australia are members of several institutions that are critical for this region and the world. We should coordinate more closely in East Asia Summit, G20 and the Indian Ocean Region Association.

Honorable Members,

In our inter-connected world, our shared challenges extend beyond our region. Terrorism has become a major threat for us all. In India, we have seen its face closely for three decades. And, we see it with the clarity that comes with it.

Terrorism is changing in character and expanding in its reach. Internet has made recruitment and call to violence self-generated. It also feeds off money laundering, drug trafficking and arms smuggling.

We have to deepen our bilateral security cooperation. But, we need a comprehensive global strategy for a global problem. It will require closer security cooperation; but, even more,a policy of no distinction between terrorist groups or discrimination between nations; a resolve to isolate those who harbour terrorists, willingness to empower states that will fight them; a social movement against extremism in countries where it is most prevalent; and, every effort to delink religion and terrorism.

As I look to the future, we would also need to ensure that outer Space and cyber space remain instruments of connectivity and prosperity, not new frontiers of conflict.

Responding to the region`s disasters, combating proliferation, acting against piracy, we can work together on a full range of security challenges.

Honorable Members,

Since my Government entered office, no region has seen more intense engagement on India`s part than Asia Pacific region - because we understand how deeply our future is linked to this region. India and Australia can play cricket hard with each other – and I suspect we will next month. But we see Australia as one of our foremost partners in the region.

I was pleased to host Prime Minister Tony Abbott as my first State Guest in September.

It has taken a Prime Minister of India 28 years to come to Australia. It should never have been so. And, this will change.

Australia will not be at the periphery of our vision, but at the centre of our thought. So, we stand together at a moment of enormous opportunity and great responsibility. I see a great future of partnership between India and Australia and, a shared commitment to realize it.

Prime Minister Abbott started us on this new journey in September. I have come here to set our two countries more firmly on that course. With your help, and with the help of the great people of India and Australia.

I wish you the best for hosting a great and successful World Cup Cricket early next year.

What could be spectacular, than winning two states in the assembly elections - Maharashtra and Haryana - for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ? It is the victory for the saffron party  in the land of Maratha, where it had alliance with Shiv Sena for last 25 years.

The split was proved in the favour of the BJP and people have given a mandate to the BJP. To form the government in Maharashtra, BJP needs 23 members' support, it has 122 seats in 288 member-Assembly. The NCP would support the BJP government in Maharashtra from out side.

Modi wave was the prime force that brought vote swing the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana. Where voters have bestowed their confidence on the BJP and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who completed 100 plus days in his office.

With the winning two more states into BJP's account, the chief Amit Shah becomes most powerful person in Indian politics, who had played a major role in shaping the party's performance in the general elections.

Shiv Sena won 63 seats in Maharashtra, was the old ally of BJP, broken the alliance over the issue of seat sharing. With NCP agreeing to support the BJP to form the government, Shiv Sena's role could be less effective in supporting BJP to form the government.

Modi wave did it again after the general elections, and the wave was enough to weigh high on the Congress party - winning very few seats in both the states.

In Haryana, BJP is in majority to form the government, winning 47 of the 90 seats. Experts, believe that the elections results could give more power to the NDA government for economic reforms - the need of the hours to bring economic stability in India.

If the head of the family is a competent person, that family will prosper. If the head of the city or village is a capable person, that place will prosper, if the head of the state is a competent and capable person, no matter how worse the situations are, that state will prosper. And no matter what and how the circumstances are if people stay together and help each other in crisis and in difficult times they can overcome any difficult situation.


This fact is again proved in Andhra Pradesh and in Visakhapatnam. Andhra Pradesh is a newly formed state and has many challenges to overcome.

Visakhapatnam city of steel, and a city which was to be developed into a smart city, but nature had its own plans and severe cyclone hit Visakhapatnam in the form of Hud hud and changed the face of Vizag.

By utilizing technology and information government saved the lives of people and they were successful in this aspect.



Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu acted liked a head of the family, gave moral support to the people of Vizag by staying there and clearing things and bringing them to normalcy at the earliest and record time. He demonstrated practically how one should deal with disaster weather in state or in any other situation.

He showed that working towards the solution of the problem and trying to make things better is the best way to handle any problem instead of worrying about the problem.

He also demonstrated the way a head of the state or a country should act in time of crisis or disaster. Even now he is seen only talking about the future and how we should work together to bring things back to normal and then start working towards making Vizag a smart city.

He proved the fact that if the leader is capable person he can bring everything in order and can erase the word impossible by his deeds.

We salute your Leadership spirit and Hats off to the way you handled the entire situation. We wish that the dream and vision you have for the state will turn into reality and you continue to take the state in a progressive path.


But the destruction of properties that was to happen has happened which is beyond any ones control and the loss is beyond measure. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the place and declared immediate help of thousand crores and said that he would do everything possible to get the city back to normal.

Chief minister Chandra Babu Naidu acted like a leader and not a politician, he took charge of the things in Visakhapatnam, started coordinating people of various departments and made all the officials work and run along with the clock.

The current political scenario has been much improved since the stable government is given mendate by the people in general elections, 2014.

Much speculations about a ganging government were proved myth, and finally the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got the clear majority – formed the government at centre.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed fist 100 days in office, people from all the corner of the country have been praising the development work carried in these 100 days.

The impact is clear and loud as for the first time manufacturing sector has gained momentum in last three months.

There were signs of weaken inflation rate, and the stock markets have been gaining keeping investors expectations up.

Economic progress is visible as the current account deficit is down.

There has been improvement in the economic scenario, and the country is heading towards economic growth freeing it from the clutches of slowdown.

In political scenario, there is stability is the country so the business in Parliament is going well. Government has been bringing many welfare schemes for the betterment of the people.

In order to connect people to banking, the government of India has started ‘Jan Dhan Yojna’, that added more than one crore bank account. The government aims add around seven crore bank account.

In the arena of foreign policy also, the government has been doing well. However, the ceasefire violation by the neighbor Pakistan is concern.

The recent visit to Japan, could be another milestone for India’s progress. The Prime Minister hold meeting with his counterpart in Japan.

Japan assures to invest in India for next five year for the progress and the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has assured for speed clearance of the investment projects from Japan.

In media, there were reports about the 100 days report card about the NDA government. Those say that the people are happy about the work is being carried out by the government in these 100 days.

The recent by-elections are however a jolt to the BJP, where the anti-BJP parties have won there.

Indo-US Relations:PM Modi to visit US in Sep’14

This could be another milestone in the history of Indo-US relationship, as the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi would likely to visit US in September this year.

However, the timing was not yet seems not finalized, according to media reports. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet the President of United States Barak Obama in Washington in September 2014.

State Department Deputy Spokesperson Marie Harf  told media on Thursday,  that they would welcome the Prime Minister of India. 

Prime Minister Modi has accepted the invitation from Obama to visit US. 

Inviting Prime Minster of Pakistan for swear-in ceremony, Narendra Modi  given clear vision that that India would be looking for more peace and cordial relationship with other countries. 

This time the visit in September would a advantageous for both US and India and both the countries may talk an various issues including trade, and slowdown.

The general elections gave a clear mandate of BJP lead by Naredra Modi and the BJP formed the government with its NDA allies. 

The impact of stable government was also seen on the stock market, as the Sensex crossed 25,000 mark and Nifty breached 7,000 on Thursday. 

Experts believe that the stable government at the center may work on foreign policy and improving relationship with other countries.

New Government of India: A New Ray of Hope

Having fed up with the increased prices, standard of living and the growing difference between the rich and the poor, the people of India have given their verdict in the form of vote.

New Government is formed in the center by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the able leadership of Narendra Modi, who with his exemplary deeds and leadership in Gujarat has won the hearts of people of India.




The kind of response he got from the people and the way people have showered their love and respect on him in the form of votes reveals to us the fact that people believe in him that he will do good for them. But there are many challenges in front of the new Government that needs to be over come if the progress of the nation is to be put on the right track.

Apart from many other things, there are two very important things that need to be addressed. That is to change the law and constitution according to today’s needs, and to change the face of the reservations. The loop holes in the constitution are acting as boon for those who are corrupt and are selfish. The majority of the problems that are bothering have their origin from constitution and laws that do not actually address today’s needs and problems. So, it is high time that we think of re-framing the constitution as per today’s needs.

The other important thing that needs to be addressed is the reservations system. There may be many number of people who have been benefited from the reservation system, but there are equally or even more number of people who have suffered because of it. So, definitely there is a need for second thought about the reservation system. If these two things are addressed on priority basis, it is sure that many problems that are bothering the nation in today’s time will be put to an end.

So, all the best to the Government of the people, by the people and for the people.

Changing Political Equation in India

The political equation has been changed in India, the recently concluded General Election left many in puzzle. There were many equations have been considered to get a look at 'what could be the election results'.  However, some news channels have rightly projected the election results in their exit poll programmes, thanks to them for their right projection.

The new thing in the election many learnt that election results are more uncertain that thought. Anti incumbency factor was the major reason for the debacle of  Congress in India, but the campaign and personality of NaMo - Narendra Modi - now Prime Minister, that changed many political equation.

The General election has given a clear mandate to BJP, which has its own majority and formed the government with NDA parties. This also clear indication that era of coalition politics has come to an end. Now single party and stable government are the positive signs the country have.

Now the economic reforms could take a pace since having stable government at center.  Political parties, those aim to have their hold in their respective areas might got the message of the people that they would vote for the development.

The next elections would be interesting as the parties would be going to people with theme of development. Politically, the era of coalition and other equations might fail once again.

Tea and Telangana to Influence Indian Politics in 2014?

Here comes 2014 with a bang for the mega political battle in India, all parties have been gearing up to flex the muscles.

Indian politics too has been responding to the recent changes in the issues, and voters accepting the change and taking the issues more seriously.

The two factors – tea and Telangana could be the major to bring sea level change in Indian politics.

The first one is the now favor for the national party – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), where as the later could be a big trouble for the national party – Congress party (INC).

One of the leader criticized the Prime Minister candidate of BJP as tea seller. Now that proved a positive point for the BJP, as it recently started ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ by Narendra Modi popularly known as NaMo.

 In USA, tea party could be an event to host tea party by political parties, but India ‘tea’ level could make BJP further more popular.

The recent survey done by the Times Now English news channel has project a clear majority for the NDA and BJP as the singles largest party to have maximum Lok Sabha seats in its favor in the next general election, could be held in April 2014, election commission of India yet to give notification over that.

The ‘Telangana’ issue has been haunting the Congress now, the leaders from Andhra Pradhesh demanding unite Andhra Pradesh opposing the bifurcation of another states.

The situation there is highly tense, as the formation of 29th state is not easy task for the UPA government at centre.

The Parliament has seen a new low on Thursday, as two MPs from Andhra Pradesh behaved rude in the Parliament as the UPA has tabled the ‘Telangana bill’. India witnessed the behavior of the respected MPs in the Parliament – the temple of Indian democracy.

However, the bifurcation of another state could a big drawback for the Congress party as well as for the UPA II. Indian politics one hand giving maximum advantage to BJP over the Tea campaign, on the contrary ruling party could lose maximum seats in Andhra Pradesh over the ‘Telangana issue’…

What is the Need for Peace Talks?

The recent terror attack on army camp in Jammu followed by attack on police station by militants, raises the question that what is the need for the peace talks between India and Pakistan.

There have been many rounds of peace talks, but the result is same and the brutal face of terrors has been teasing Indians for long.

The talks failure is not just a failure between the two nations but that weigh high on human life. Army and policemen are not commodities, they are human beings. They should not become target because of there is failure in peace process.

The important thing is that diplomatic management over the cross border terrorism, putting pressure on the neighbour is not only the solution to stop the terrorism.

Time has come to act on further to save the life of people including our army and police force. How long India would wait to thing to get fixed automatically?

Is Politics on Bills Mounting Pressure on Economy?

 

What exactly the health of Indian economy? Can you gauge the dept of the crisis that the Indian economy has been going through now?

These questions are obvious and meaningful, if any one asking you about the economy and its condition. The current circumstances are creating panic over downgrade economy, that really going through a bad patch.

The situation was bit quite different and healthy (personal opinion of the writer) as of 1991, where the road to economic reforms was exactly started. Now the situation has repeated the history, but the situation is dealing with different crisis.

It is not wrong to say that the stock markets were tumbled due the more domestic reasons than the euro debt crisis.  The governments has pushed many bills in to the lower house and those could be aiming the 2014 general elections.

But the bills like Food Security, Pension Bill, Land Acquisition Bill might not be in favor of the capitalist form of economy.  Bill might have affected adversely to the economy. And no doubt that in future these bill would help the people of India.

 Considering the current economic crisis the politics over the bill and introducing those in haste could be bring more shocks to the economy, which is already on a bad condition.

In a democracy the public opinion matters like anything, and obviously quantity is dominating the judgement. In the country like India, where politics has hardly on its path of political reforms, here comes the role of social media in contributing to the object.

Social media has been widely accepted by youth, and they are citizens of the country. They decide their leaders; they elect them and send to the temples of democracy – Parliament, State Assemblies, State Legislative Councils.

Over the decade, the popularity of social media has made significant changes, the present of political leaders and using this platform justifies the view. It would not be wrong to say that, through social media, public opinion could be gathered for various purposes and for political reforms.

On the contrary, the wrong use or paid publicity could also hamper the political reform process. So, the judgement should not be taken on that particular media. Social media in India no doubt at the peak but still it needs to achieve the complete formation to establish astonishing role to bring changes in the political reforms.

What would be the impact on the society if social media manages to gather best public opinion? The answer lies that, the main stream media is now capable of bring changing the society and stopping corruption, by highlighting or exposing the matters, while having concrete evidences to their claim.

One day, the social media could also reach the top position, where the users’ opinion could bring many fold changes into the society – politically. The social networking sites like –facebook, twitter, Google plus and linked in have been widely accepted by the people in the world including Indians.

Who is Big Politician or Bureaucrat?

The latest row over the suspension of IAS office in Uttar Pradesh has sparked the debate again, who is big – politicians or bureaucrats. As the Uttar Pradesh government said the centre that it could remove all IAS officers from the state, according to media.

In a democracy, the political structure and executive structure are the two main pillars. When it comes to question of their role or contribution, both are equal. But some cases make them different or their capacity. 

In the case of Uttar Pradesh, the new twist in the suspension – sand mafia link – added more colour to the story. The role of bureaucrats is more important because they plan and execute the policies. And no doubt, the elected representatives by the people are going to frame the rules to run the country, the real power of democracy lies there. 

Political leaders are doing their job right so as the bureaucrats. Now the role of centre is very important to judge the case and strike a line where both the powers could not cross further at any stage in the country.

Will Telangana formation help Congress in 2014?

News is buzzing around and anytime a new state – Telangana could be curved out of Andhra Pradesh with 10 districts having in it. Top brass Congress leaders have been on agenda to get a final outcome on the much awaited decision.

The formation of new state could have mixed response in the state of Andhra Pradesh as well as among Congress leaders of both Congress party and its Andhra Pradesh state unit.

Currently, deciding the capital for the new to be Telangana is bone of contention for all the leaders. But another question rises here that – will Congress Party gain from this trump card in the forthcoming general elections in 2014?

Finally the Congress party has been unfolding its card on the long standing issue to form the newly state. The party may gain some favour by deciding to have new state for the people those have been demanding for long time. But the real hero would be the TRC party, which reportedly fought the battle for new state.

Many supporters of Telangana have lost their life in deadly protest as witnessed since the movement for new state was began in Andhra Pradesh. Politically it has been one of the sensitive issues, since the Congress has its government in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

After losing its popular leader YS Rajasekha Reddy, the popularity of Congress might be down in Andhra Pradesh, as another party is being formed by Jagan – YSR Congress Party. And the Padayarta from the family member of late Congress leader YSR might be a setback for the Congress party.

Amid the scenario the Congress party may get some favour by declaring a new state – Telangana. But the flip side it might also face irk of the people of Andhra Pradesh, those were not favour to let Telangana go from its land.

There were mixed reaction over the formation of Telengana state in Congress party. However, the official declaration from the Congress party high command is yet to hit the news.

Political parties in India have been in hunt for issues to fight the mega election battle in 2014. The major issues would be corruption and high prices, leaving these two issues all the parties need some catchy things to highlight in the election.

Voters in India have been getting the update about the political parties through public domains – news channels, news sites, social networking sites and radio news. They know the exact situation of the country and would decide the fate of many leaders in the forthcoming election.

The recent verdict of the Supreme Court over the disqualifying the criminal from contesting election was the milestone in Indian politics. It was needed to stop electing criminals to the temple s of Indian democracy – Parliament and state Assemblies.

Indian Govt allows 100% FDI in Defence, Telecom

In significant move, the Government of India has allowed 100% foreign direct investment (FDI) in defence and telecom services sectors and also raised the FDI limits in 12 sectors. This has been the major economic reform in the country since the depreciation of rupees weighing high on the Indian economy. The government has allowed major foreign direct investments through automatic route.

Considering the recommendations of the Arvind Mayaram committee, the UPA government at centre has increased the FDI limit in 12 sectors. It is noteworthy that that, this time the crucial sectors were also taken into consideration for increasing the FDI cap.

The Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma told media that the decisions were taken on Tuesday night in a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister of India with key ministers in New Delhi.

However, the opposition parties – BJP and Left have opposed the hike in the FDI in crucial sectors like defence and telecom, the move could lead to security threat to India. And some alleged that the Congress-led UPA government did not wait for monsoon session of Parliament to discuss.

The opposition parties might not allow the government to function in the Parliament during the monsoons session opposing its FDI policies.

FDI in telecom services sector was increased to 100% from existing cap of 74%. However, the minister cleared that the foreign direct investment into India could come through automatic route or only after it was approved by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB).

The FIPB would approve the FDI in defence production under 26% and above the limit the Cabinet Committee on Security would approve, which is defined by the government as “state-of-the-art” technology.

The government has changed 49% FDI in petroleum, natural gas and refining sectors to automatic route from the FIPB route. Now the investment in commodity exchanges, power exchanges and stock, exchanges could be done through automatic route for 49% FDI in these sectors.
