Management is the backbone of any organization and it is the way the organization is managed by the people that determines the growth of any organization. Management basically means the process of planning, organizing, leading and controlling the efforts of organization members and resources to achieve organizational goals. It is the size of the organization that usually determines the levels of the organization and the levels of management. As per the organizational hierarchy, there will be various kinds of managers working at different levels of the organization, top, middle and lower level supervising the activities of the people in the organization and planning things.

Planning is a very important aspect of the organization. First on a broader scale the goals of the organization need to be planned. What is it that is the organization wants to achieve? In what time frame? These are the factors that determine the goals of an organization. These goals once they are framed out they are then divided to small goals to be achieved by various departments, various people, from various levels to individual level, within the given time frame.

Decision making and communicating powers are usually divided at various levels as per the requirement. It is the top level management that decides the powers and functions of various people in the various levels of management. Accordingly as per their requirement, decision making power is given to them so that they can carry on the operations of the organization smoothly. In order to achieve organizational goals, on an individual level, various skills, technical and other skills, as per the need are required by the people. Work Atmosphere: Its Affects on The Organization

IN · · Leave a Comment
Work, has become a more serious business today, than it has been ever before, I will not be wrong if I say, that it is hard to find, a smiling face at work. The best performing organizations are those where people are happy and laughing and simultaneously giving out their best. Work place where people feel at ease, and happy, is a place, where you find great team work, more creativity, and more productivity.

It has been proved time and again that when people are relaxed, and encouraged, they become more productive and qualitative at work. When people who work together spend time together and have some fun and share lighter moments, they come close as human beings. And this increases understanding about each other better. People become more cooperative when they know each other, and encourage each other, to be more productive and qualitative at work and this become a great foundation to form a great team and great team work.

No one likes to work in a place where, people don’t look and smile at each other, and everyone is thinking about their own growth not bothering about the other person. So relations between the peers and teammates in an organization have a greater role to play, in the overall work atmosphere of the organization. The better and more encouraging the work place and work atmosphere, the greater the organization and greater the progress of the organization and its people make.

Every organization and almost all big ones have a work culture of their own, and they have their own little and big ways of creating a better work place and atmosphere. People who are spending money for employee get together, and are organizing other events to build team spirit are not fools, when they are doing so. These are the people who know the importance of relationships between peers and the effect that work atmosphere has got on the performance of the individual. So to give importance and to shape the work atmosphere as the one, where people work together, laugh together, and move towards the path of progress together, is every ones responsibility. The healthier the work atmosphere the healthier your growth charts.

Goal and Team

IN · · Leave a Comment
When you are at individual level, you are the one, responsible for achieving and realizing your dreams. But when you expand your dreams to the level of organization, or business, your team is equally, and to state the fact, even more important, to realize your dreams. So the bigger your dream, the more important role your team has to play, in realizing them.

When in an organizational level, you think of realizing your goals, and achieving success, it becomes equally important, that, your goals become the goals of your team. Unless they have sense of belongingness and identify their goals with yours, it becomes highly impossible to get the best out of them. So make sure that, when you set goals at the organizational level, your team also participates, and have their word, as to how they can contribute towards the goal, or discuss constrains if any, and have a solution for it.

Once you know, what your goals are, and where do you want to see yourself, you need to assess the capabilities of the team members, to see, if they coincide with the requirement, if not you have to take steps to make improvements in the required areas, and fill in the gaps. So at every level of the organization, people, as a team, play a very significant and important role, towards achieving and realizing organizational, dreams and goals.

People, who understand this fact, encourage, help and guide each other during their journey towards achieving goals and progress together as a team. The greater and bigger your goals and dreams, the stronger your team work should be, and the greater you team members should be. So teamwork plays a very important role, when your goals and dreams are greater and bigger.

Lift Others – Lift Yourself

IN · · Leave a Comment
There are a few principles, that successful people always follow that differentiates them from the rest of the people, and one of them, is to encourage and help people progress in their life, let it be in personal life or professional life. Most of us are busy worried about our own progress, in personal and professional life, and we don’t think it to be necessary to lift other people who are struggling their way up.

You may be at any level of the organizational hierarchy, but still you have a role to play when it comes to lifting others. You may be working under someone, and someone may be reporting to you, but still you are dealing with people all the time. Most of the times we spend time criticizing others, but rarely do we feel the necessity to lift and encourage others. But, if you want to grow as a person, professionally and organization wise, it is very important for you to take care and contribute towards the growth of the employees or your peers.

Always encourage people through your words and deeds, to improve themselves professionally or otherwise give them the guidance, to your level best, as to what they can do to make themselves better. When you discourage someone with your words or deeds and feel jealous about his or her progress, please remember that the harm you are doing to yourself is more than the harm you are doing to them. Life’s law is simple, you get back what you give to others, you give encouragement and you receive it, you help others on their way up, you will get your share of help, when you need it.

You may think, may be I will help people when I am in a better position, but remember, in spite of your position when you have this thought of lifting others and developing others, the sooner you adapt this thought, the sooner you will climb up our ladder of success. So lift others and get lifted, because it is the way life’s principle works.

Goal setting Important aspect of business

IN · · Leave a Comment
If we begin a journey, it is because we have particular destination in our mind and we want to reach there. We asses, as to what are the ways and possible means we have, to reach that destination, how important and urgent it is for us to reach that destination, accordingly we choose the ways and means.

Business is also similar aspect, if we have started a business, we should have a clear vision in our mind as to where we want to see ourselves standing in the market, say five years from now, ten years from now, what is it that we want to achieve through business. It may be money, may be qualitative products, may be position you want to climb up say number one in your field. It varies according to the nature of the business you are in, may be qualitative products are your concern or luxurious products, or more technological advancement, may be better services, it can be any thing.

Goal setting is a very broader aspect; the whole organization structure depends on it. At the highest level, company or organization heads should set the goals, as to what they want to achieve in a given time frame. Then these wider goals need to be broken down to the departmental level with particular specifications about quality and quantity. These departmental goals, when broken down to individual level they get converted into job specifications and job requirements. Once you are finished with the job of goal setting you should see if you are equipped with the necessary skill set, man power or machine power or what ever it may take to achieve them.

Given all these things, you should set short-term goals and long-term goals, and make evaluations on a regular basis to see if you are able to achieve them. This again is at every level, individual, departmental, and if you are able to achieve you set goals according to the time frame you have set, well and good. If you are not able to achieve your set goals, you have to make evaluation as to where you are falling short or lagging behind. What steps you can take to cover those gaps and acquire your set goals.

On the whole, goal is the basis on which everything and any thing you do in business depends. Rest is only a process that you follow, to convert your thought of goal, into reality. With particular set goals, provided means and ways to achieve them, evaluation on a regular basis and necessary corrective steps, you are sure to achieve your specified goal.
