Barracuda launches Software-as-a-Service

IN · · Leave a Comment
Barracuda launches Software-as-a-Service
Barracuda is expanding on its existing flexible options for businesses to manage their data protection and disaster recovery needs. Cloud-to-Cloud Backup, Barracuda’s new SaaS backup option, provides customers with the ability to replicate data from supported cloud environments into Barracuda’s Cloud Storage. Barracuda Backup now provides customers with additional options for long-term data retention and physical-to-virtual portability.

“As IDC’s worldwide unit leader in Integrated Purpose Built Backup Appliances, extending the value we provide to our customers is always our top priority, which includes giving them flexible options for protecting their data and restoring services quickly in the event of a disaster,” said Rod Mathews, GM Storage, Barracuda. “As businesses continue to move their infrastructures to the cloud with the adoption of SaaS applications, providing the same level of protection for physical servers, virtual servers, and cloud services is crucial. The new options for Barracuda Backup, including Cloud-to-Cloud Backup for SaaS applications, will offer customers additional flexibility for data protection and disaster recovery.”

Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Backup

Barracuda's new Cloud-to-Cloud Backup currently supports Microsoft Office 365 including Exchange Online and OneDrive for Business. IT administrators concerned about protecting Microsoft Office 365 environments will be able to replicate data over a secure connection to be stored in Barracuda Cloud Storage. Lost data can be more easily searched for and retrieved. Administrators can download or restore data directly back to Microsoft’s hosted applications from Barracuda Cloud Control - a centralized web-based administration console, accessible from anywhere. Benefits include:

· Protection against accidental or malicious data loss

· Customizable retention policies and granular selection

· Automated or manual backups

· Search, multi-selection restores, or downloads

· Barracuda Cloud Storage can be deployed in geographically distributed, enterprise-grade data centers

· Data encrypted with HTTPS/SSL in transit and AES 265-bit encryption at rest

Flexible Options for Long-Term Data Retention

For businesses looking to meet extended retention requirements, Barracuda Backup customers can leverage Offsite Vaulting to store historical revisions in Barracuda’s Cloud Storage or an offsite Barracuda Backup appliance. Barracuda Backup is extending its functionality to include export options for historical revisions to external media such as disk or tape. Benefits include:

· Export individual files, folders, or databases – both scheduled or on-demand – to disk, tape drives, autoloaders, and robotic libraries

· Automatic scheduling and media rotation, data encryption and compression, and alerting of backup completion or errors

Physical-to-Virtual Portability

Barracuda Backup’s innovative LiveBoot feature provides a rapid recovery option for virtual environments during disasters and will now add physical-to-virtual (P2V) portability. For physical servers that are not yet end of life, IT admins will be able to restore these systems into a virtual server hosted in VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V. Benefits include:

· Simplified migration from legacy physical servers into virtual environments

· Reduced time-to-recovery in the event of a disaster by enabling recovery of physical servers to a virtual infrastructure

“Barracuda Backup has always provided us with the flexibility to back up our data in a way that makes the most sense for our business,” said Craig Sauvigne, System Administrator, Winthrop University. “It’s easy to buy and set up, is highly scalable and keeps improving with each update – Barracuda Backup is a great long-term solution for backup and recovery.”

Barracuda Backup is part of the company’s Data Protection Plus strategic initiative, aimed at helping customers access, retain and share critical data from anywhere and any device. For more information about Data Protection Plus, please visit:http://cuda.co/dppreview.

Not Just Professional Training; Happiness is Guaranteed at Koenig!

IN · · Leave a Comment
Koenig
What does one acquire education for? Some may say to augment material success, others may insist to gain knowledge and bridge the distance between being qualified and employable. However, Koenig, a reputed Delhi-based IT company believes that education is lacking in its goal if it doesn’t add to your happiness quotient.

After years of working with major IT giants and providing IT training to a large number of students, Koenig has unveiled a unique Happiness Guarantee promise to its customers. With this Guarantee, Koenig takes upon itself to ensure that all students enrolled at its training centers in Delhi and Bangalore are not just happy with the service but also happier after attending the course because of the progress they make in their career.

At a time when education is being transformed and repackaged into a product by providers, this is a unique and first-of-its kind Guarantee from an IT Training Company that believes that education is the only service that can help individuals achieve long-term happiness.

You may have heard training providers guarantee the best curriculum, and best instructors but have you heard a service provider guarantee the best satisfaction? What is unique about this guarantee is that Koenig has taken upon itself to guarantee happiness which is an inner state-of-being.

“It is milestone for Koenig. For the past many years, Koenig has been trying its best to ensure that our customers are happy. We have now decided to go upfront about it. We now Guarantee Happiness to our customers. This approach is aligned with the mission of our company to Make the World a Better Place. The world cannot be better unless it is also happier. If any service can, education can ensure long-term happiness of people. In fact, education is of no use unless it contributes to the happiness of the recipient,” says Mr. Rohit Aggarwal, Founder and CEO of Koenig.

He might be the CEO of the company, but Rohit prefers to call himself a Chief Helping Officer.

“We want to start the trend amongst IT training companies to guarantee happiness to their students. We think this will prove to be the panacea for the industry because it suffers from lack of credibility due to past performance on its promises to the students. It is our belief that in times to come, companies will have no choice but to Guarantee Happiness to their customers,” he adds.

True education is one that enlightens, empowers and provides a deep sense of satisfaction. Koenig works with IT companies, training their employees to upgrade their technical capabilities with an aim to ensure that each individual student gets the knowledge most needed by him/her for progress in his work and career.

Guaranteeing happiness is a first in an industry that is crowded with service providers, yet lacks credibility and trustworthiness. The initiative marks an important first step towards bringing more accountability to the industry as it forces other players to take stock of their services and the satisfaction they are providing to their customers. Offering the true value for time and money is an important proposition that needs to be adopted by the industry at large.

Koenig’s ultimate principle is to contribute to making the World a Happier Place; the underlying belief being that Success Doesn't Guarantee Happiness. It's Happiness that yields Success in Life!

IN · · 1 comment
There is a lot of interest among information technology (IT) solution providers about packages that help in ERP, SCM, BPR and CRM. The plea given is that they help in real business growth as well as business models, whatever the target may be.
Companies look for most advanced technology (software model) that can deliver the best result helping smooth and faster decision-making. Companies need adopt best software to survive in the tough competition and volatile market conditions. Not only that cost-effective decision are being given priority when the economy under the crunch or slowdown.

IT advancement has given a big opportunity for businesses to take the advantage of the using software to gain profit and targets. In India, of late, small and medium companies are focusing more to adopt most advanced software. While way back, companies used to invest 2-5% on IT.

IT has been providing best business solutions through various kinds of software in different fields of operation. Software helps to streamline 4m resources i.e., materials, machines, men and money. A typical business solution is an integration of ERP, BPR, and SCM. The software application ERP can take care of functions like accounts, production planning, payroll and marketing etc., BPR can be used simultaneously to cut-down on all non-value added business processes and paperwork. These systems if combined with the web help businessmen to reach their customers most cost-effectively. And the integration will help to reduce costs incurred on setting up offices and hiring employees.

The modern business world has been focusing on using most advanced software to reduce cost and making decision fast with keeping data management at its peak. The business solutions from Microsoft, SAP, Peoplesoft and Oracle have changed the world of business today from the way it used to be before two decades. Using independent software for each set of task or model of work might create hassles in a business process or in companies work.
