Business Principles: Attitude towards Customers

IN · · Leave a Comment
customers
In business principles, attitude is definitely one thing that definitely matters if you are a marketing person and are dealing with customers.

While doing business, you may be selling just a pencil or you may be dealing with equipment that costs crores, but the core point is that you are dealing with customers.

Many people have this attitude that I am selling a product that is not much worth in terms of money and the person I am going to meet is just another guy and they do not have a professional approach in business.

It is not always necessary that your client or customer will always be a person who will be sitting in a closed cabin to do business. He or she may be the person next to you and just like you ordinary.

But never theless it is your responsibility to have a professional approach towards him or her. For example, in business you are selling a tractor and your customer is a farmer, it does not mean that you go him with wrinkled shirt and talk to him casually and without respect.

He may be a farmer but you are earning your pay cheque and commission because of him, if he is not there you is not there.

So, he should be treated with respect and your approach should be professional. The way you convince him or try to talk to him may be different from others, but your attitude towards him should not change. Whatever he is, however he is he is your customer and you should treat him like that.

A successful marketing or sales person knows that his success always depends upon the way he approaches his customer and his convincing abilities.

But in any case his approach should always be professional and he should wish for the good of the customer and how his product will benefit him and add value to his life. If this is kept in mind you will see only success in business.

Customers Buy with Heart or Head?

IN · · Leave a Comment
Right from the corporate to the small business establishments, there is competition for one thing customer’s money. But there are few who succeed and excel in this competition, know who? Those who know the importance of touching customer’s hearts and emotions. It is a bare truth we all experience in our life.

We go to a particular shop or to a particular person to buy something because of the relationship we have with that person. And if we get everything that we need from that particular persons store we prefer going there. Why? Because that particular person was successful in touching our heart and emotions. Those people who know this and implement this become very successful in business.

“The essential difference between emotion and reason is that, emotions lead to action while reason leads to conclusions”. - Donald Calne

This one quote says it all. As humans we prefer going to places and person who fill us with good feelings and emotions. If as a business person, your aim is to get more clients and generate repeat business it is very important to keep this fact in mind. We prefer going to places and people where we are made to feel special, good and important. And customers are humans; the day you understand and implement it you need no worries about your business.

Many people make the mistake of thinking that, it is not important to have a good relationship with customers or clients. Because they think that people prefer those goods or services that are more beneficial and economical and in this emotions and relationships play no role. But it is a wrong notion; customers and clients become loyal when they have a relationship with you, when you become a part of their life by constant good relationship over time.

The day you are successful in establishing such relations with clients and touching their hearts. No matter what your competition may do and market may change, you have no worries. Point to think.

It is the importance that an organization gives to its customers and to their relation with them that determines the growth and development of the organization. Customer relationship management is an information industry term, for methodologies, software, and usually Internet capabilities that help an enterprise manage customer relationships, in an organized way.

The various functions of the customer relationship management can be described as follows:
  • Customer relationship management, usually enables its marketing departments to identify their potential clients and their best customers, manage marketing campaigns and generate quality leads for the sales team.
  • Customer relationship management helps the organization to improve sales. Because only when there is a relation established between the client and the organization, will the client come back to the organization for the kind of services they provide. Otherwise there is no point why a client should come back to you for repeat business, he can go to any one else in the market, the reason may be any better price better quality or better customer relationship.
  • Customer relationship management, allows establishing individualized relationships with the clients, this helps in improving customer satisfaction, and increases profits;
  • Customer relationship management allows identifying the most loyal clients, clients who have been sticking with the company for a long time and therefore enables the company to reward them or to provide them with some benefits, for their loyalty to the company. How To Retain And Increase Clients In Business?

IN · · Leave a Comment
A good and strong client base is the backbone of any business. Clients are the very reason, because of whom, the business exists, let it be of any sort. Such is the importance of clients in any business organization. To have good relation with such clients is even more important for any business to run properly and to prosper.

Client needs: It is the need of the client that forms the basis of relationship, between any business organization and the client himself, as long as we keep our eyes open to the necessities and requirements of the clients, and can imagine ourselves in their shoes and have a sight to visualize their needs and requirements, we can be sure to have a good relation with clients.

Quality: Quality of work or service provided or product, let it be anything, but maintaining the quality standards is very important in business, one should always try to provide the promised level of service, or product to the client, as this gives an impression to the client about you and your organization, and becomes the basis on which, he decides to come back to you or not.

Promptness in service: whenever a client comes back to you with a complaint or a request, we should respond immediately, and should do whatever necessary, when one responds or attends to clients requests or complaint immediately, it conveys a message to the client, that he is important to you, and you value him, and so he comes back to you whenever he needs your service, and speaks good about you and your company to the other people, this way you increase your clients.

Time factor: It is not sufficient that we provide quality services, but quality services provided on time are what matter most. Always make sure that you provide on time services to your clients and see to it that you keep up your word. Excuses, what so ever, will not fulfill the loss if you don’t deliver goods or services on the promised time to your client. Never think that it is a matter of one time, if you are not able to provide promised services or goods on time, it is enough to destroy his faith on you and your organization. And you may lose a valuable client for a lifetime.

Give time to your client: Whenever a client calls you, or comes to you, for any reason, make sure that you attend to him first, if it is not possible, make sure he is attended to, and just keep him informed about the reasons. When you meet your client, don’t just give your ears to him, listen to him, when you listen to him, you make him feel you are concerned about him and value him. This is very important for a good relation with the clients.

Managing Relationship for Business Success

IN · · Leave a Comment
Day in and out, right from the time we are up from our bed, we deal with people. Starting at home, outside, neighbourhood, office anywhere and everywhere we deal with only people. The basis of any well run organization or business is, relationship with the people or clients. In today’s time, it is easy to find much number of people or organizations offering the same kind or even better services or products to their clients. So in this kind of situation, where one has wide choice why should one opt for a particular kind of product or service from a particular organization or person? It is because of the relationship that you establish with them and the kind of trust they have in you or the products you offer. We may offer the best quality product or service that is matchless. Still, if your relationship with the client is not well, there is no way that he or she will come back to you. There are a few important factors that will help in developing better and long standing relationship with your client in your business. First and the fore most, we should always be on time, either when we give our time to others or when we take others time, because time is precious for any one, and their time is valuable as yours. We should always try to deliver the services or goods at the promised time, so that no one incurs the loss caused there by. More over when you are able to keep up your time commitments people develop trust in you and come back to you for your services. Another important aspect in building better relationship with the client is, we should not at any point of time “promise more and deliver less” this applies even more in case of “quality” of the products or services offered. We should be frank enough to state only that which we can offer or deliver, and see to it that we have kept our promise. If one is successful in doing this then he can be sure of having, good will and wide client base in the market. Last but definitely, not the least important factor to develop a long standing relationship with the client is, to think from his perspective, we should be skilled enough to assess his needs, requirements and see if we can meet them. If we start doing this we will be able to improve ourselves / our products or the services that we offer. This way when we start thinking of the ways we can benefit them they are bound to come back to us. To sum up, the more skilful we are in our relationship with people let them be our peers, subordinates or superiors, clients, any one, the better the relation, the better the business. So relationship with people is everything in business.
