The Effects of Watching TV After Work

What do you do after going home after a long day’s work? Well, the majority would answer, grab the remote and sit In front of the television.

Right this is what most of the people do, but research says that watching TV after work actually makes you feel like a failure and guilty, you do not actually feel relaxed by watching TV.

The study also says that people who have high stress levels did not feel relaxed by watching TV instead they had feelings of guilt and failure.

Earlier research actually showed that watching TV actually relaxes a person, but now a day’s people are sitting in front of television for more hours instead of using the time productively and usefully.

This leads to guilt that they are wasting time. You may not feel more comfort in front of the tv, while trying to do something productive, on the contrary it would deviate you from your mean stream of work.

This feeling itself does not allow us relax instead leads to the feelings of guilt and failure, this is what research says.

Around us we also find so many people who forget themselves their duties and responsibilities when they start watching TV.
It is the only thing that matters to them and everything else comes second, such attitude is highly dangerous. As long as you exercise control over yourself everything is good, but when things start controlling you, you are at risk.

Sony Entertainmet : Enemies turn friends on the sets of Maharana Pratap

In the upcoming episode of Sony TV’s Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap, courageous Pratap will be seen facing his biggest enemy Akbar in a deadly fight. While shooting for this particular sequence, Pratap aka Faisal Khan and Akbar aka Vishal Jethwa had to prepare themselves by undergoing rigorous training sessions. Renowned fight master Deepak Das was seen giving them extensive training for performing the stunts in the show.

Talking about it Pratap aka Faisal says, “ I was really looking forward for this fight sequence as it involved many challenging stunts which amazes me a lot. Years of dance practice has given me an added bonus to perform these stunts better. Our stunt master helped us to understand the right technics required to perform this stunt. I hope I have done justice to the sequence and wish audiences like it too”.

Commenting about his experience Akbar aka Vishal says, “I was really excited to shoot for this sequence as it was my very first time. Mumbai: Sony Entertainment Television spices up the weekend action with the launch of its latest crime entertainer, Encounter; a show depicting dangerous encounters between gangsters and the police, starting from April 11th at 9 pm. The senior cops of CID, Daya and Abhijeet are known for their bravery and the stunt filled action scenes that they attempt. But now the action will get more entertaining and engaging with television’s two handsome hunks Gaurav Khanna and Maninder Singh joining the team.

This week, Halla Bol takes on the matter of stalking

This week HallaBol, bindass’ latest show will be putting the spotlight on the subject of stalking. This latest offering from bindass brings more power to women by narrating incidences from various true stories of abuse where the victims have emerged victorious. This episode revolves around Divya, a 26 year old city girl who suddenly realises that she is being stalked. She is terrified by the idea of a stalker, until she decides to put an end to it.

Divya is a 26 year old independent girl who lives in Mumbai with her younger sister, Ahaana. Having lost their parents, Divya looks after Ahaana and they stay together while Divya manages her father’s bakery business. She is also learning kick boxing from her trainer, Raghav. Soon, Divya starts feeling that someone is stalking her; she gets roses outside her house on her birthday followed by blank calls.

She even feels that someone is watching her constantly. Divya gets petrified by the thought of her stalker being around her all the time and realizes that he knows her whereabouts through social networking sites.

One day after a party, Divya feels as if her stalker is in her house. Scared, she calls Raghav for help. And this is when she realizes that her stalker is none other than her trainer, Raghav himself. He threatens her to stay silent and eventually abducts Ahaana.

Divya then decides to fight back, and takes help of her friends to catch Raghav. She uses the same defense techniques that he had once taught her.This seems like the last straw for Divya.

She makes up her mind to not stay silent anymore and to fight back. Will Divya be able to get her sister back safely? Does she manage to teach Raghav a lesson?

Mayuri’s New Avatar in Chidiyaghar

‘Chidiyaghar’ is the story of a fun-loving family comprising of different members with their own uncanny & funny mannerisms.

Mayuri played by Debina Bonnerjee thought of including a trendy look of her in ‘Chidiyaghar’ series. She suggested to the creative team to change heravatar in the series to add an element of fun.

After mutual discussions it was decided to westernize Debina’s look in the series which would make it different and offer a fresh appeal to her character.

Debina said, “Mayuri is one of my favourite on-screen personas that I connect with. I am really excited to play a western avatar of her as it connects with the real me. Incidentally, this idea of westernizing Mayuri came from me during a candid discussion with the creative team.

I will be shown as a dance teacher and having learnt dance professionally, it also worked in my favour. I also will be doing a dance performance on a popular Bollywood track.

I hope I get to play such fun parts more often on the show.”

"I don't know why Zero is called Love in Tennis" - Mahesh Bhupati on Captain Tiao

Indian Tennis doubles Ace Mahesh Bhupati has fiercely and successfully battled it out in the tennis court but, recently India’s first Grand Slam player was left baffled by the questions of a young kid ‘Captain Tiao’ a.k.a Sadhil Kapoor. Mahesh Bhupati will also be seen divulging some interesting facts about the sport and its terminologies, in the upcoming episode of Disney Channel’s new celebrity chat show ‘Captain Tiao’.

When the young and inquisitive Captain Tiao' asked him for some tips in tennis and why zero is called love in tennis, with a surprising and equally naive expression Mahesh replied, “To be honest, till date even I don’t know why is it called love”. To back swing Mahesh Bhupati with some mind twisting questions, Sadhil asked him if the tennis ball weights too much because all the players scream while hitting the ball, Mahesh then revealed the secret saying, “That is just to scare the opponent”.

‘Captain Tiao’ is a first of its kind short format talk show conceptualized keeping in mind the curious nature of a child and the intriguing questions that children never hesitate to ask. The show presents Sadhil Kapoor as the host ‘Captain Tiao’ who with his mind bending questions gets celebrities to reveal some unknown and interesting facts of their lives. Thank God Mohit is nothing like Samrat:Addite

He sends most women with a reasonable sense of self-respect fuming and gritting their teeth with his flawless portrayal of the egoistic, male chauvinist Samrat in Doli Armaanon Ki. The manner in which he approaches screen wife Urmi (played by Neha Marda) – often berating her for no fault of her’s, coming down heavily on her for standing up for a woman whose modesty has been compromised by local ruffians, blaming her for another man taking undue interest in her, Samrat is the anti-hero women are bound to hate.

But, actor Mohit Mallik, if his wife Addite’s testimonial is anything to go by, is a far cry from this insensitive brute he plays in the show. Speaking of his role, Mohit said, “I completely understand that my character of Samrat in Doli Armaanon Ki is a pet-hate amongst women.

He is the kind of husband no woman would ever want for herself. I feel my character is teaching girls across the country about the kind of man not to marry. However, ever since I have taken on this role, I have received a lot of hate mails for the way I treat Urmi but I consider that a mark of my success as an actor.

If the profile of the character I play entails male chauvinism, having outdated sexist views, double standards for men and women, hypocrisy, I must embody these traits and display them convincingly. If the kind of strong negative backlash I am currently receiving is anything to go by, I am doing a pretty decent job with the role. ”

So, when we asked Mohit’s wife Addite what he is really like in person, she said, “He is deeply respectful towards women unlike Samrat. He definitely does not subscribe to dated, age-old views on gender roles.

He is quite a romantic at heart, a very loving, understanding, supportive partner … he and I barely have any issues. I’m truly blessed! So, touch wood, Mohit is nothing like Samrat … if he ever dared to exhibit any of those chauvinistic traits, he has me back at home to deal with (laughs)”

His co-star Neha Marda adds, “Mohit is a genuinely good soul and a warm friendly co-star in stark contrast to his on screen image. Wherever we go, fans flock to me and are genuinely jittery and wary of him thanks to his on-screen persona. But within minutes, his infectious smile and charming ways make them warm up to him.

He is particularly fond of kids, his current craze is the latest entrant on our sets – the child actor who plays Diwakar’s daughter Mandira. Between takes, he’s constantly playing around with her, pulling pranks on those around. He’s a sweetheart!”
