Naseeruddin Shah is starring in the film alongside award winning actors. The film is set to release on November 6th this year.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Demands Police Protection for Nana Patekar

Apprehending a possible threat to the life of the famous Bollywood actor Nana Patekar, who played the role of a police officer in the film, The attacks of 26/11. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has demanded police protection for the actor.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena MLA Ram Kadam said. "Nana Patekar is an asset to the country. He is a brilliant actor and the role played by him in the movie based on the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai is worth appreciating. Therefore, we demand that protection be provided to him."

“Terror organizations may dislike Patekar's role in the movie and therefore the MNS perceives a threat to his life. I have demanded police protection to Patekar from Mumbai Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh and state Home Minister R R Patil", he said.

Provide Personal Security to Mani Ratnam: Madras High Court

The Madras High Court directed police to provide personal security cover to Mani Ratnam at his cost, according to media reports.

Mani Ratnam earlier in his petition had reportedly sought police protection, submitting that a few days after his film 'Kadal' was released, a few unidentified persons, who were claiming themselves to be alleged distributors, were spreading false facts about its quality.

Disappointed over the alleged low turnover of the film, more than 25 unidentified persons, claiming to be distributors trespassed into his office on February 9 and 22 and created a fear psychosis on the staff present there.

Two police officials had been posted at Ratnam's office and two more would be posted at his residence, said Additional government pleader.

The court said “The petitioner is a bigwig with a social status in the society and hence he has come to the court seeking police protection to his life and liberty and that of his family members and directed that one personal security be provided to the film-maker to safeguard him and his family”.

V Prakash, senior counsel appearing for the film-maker earlier, submitted that on the deployment of personal security to Mani Ratnam's residence and office, the cost may be borne by him. Adding to this, the Judge said that this arrangement would continue until further orders and posted the matter to April 10th to review the situation.

Touring Kolkotta during the auspicious festival of Durga Puja, the song takes watchers through prime locations like Howrah Bridge , Kumartuli , Lal Bazar and other iconic places that the city boasts off.




Says director Sujoy Ghosh “My film has two heroines, Vidya Balan and Kolkata, and this song was for the latter”



Sung by the legendary Usha Uthap of “Darling” fame, the songstress now starts the New Year with a bang with `Ami shotti bolchi”. Adds Sujoy “I've always wanted Didi to sing for me but didn't approach her till Vishal came up with this song. It's trademark Kolkata and Didi is the voice of Kolkata”



Talking about how the song came about explains the director “The words, `Ami shotti bolchi' (I'm speaking the truth) just popped out while chatting with Vishal (co-composer Vishal Dadlani) and became the starting point for a song that's been shot on the streets of Kolkata.“

If sources are to be believed a large chunk of the film’s tight budget went into the team’s safety during the shoot of the song, not only due to the high-risk locations but also because of the growing mobs that would follow the cast and crew while in the city.

Picturized on protagonist Vidya who goes in search for her missing husband the song promises to be nothing short of a traveler’s delight.

Directed by Sujoy Ghosh,Viacom 18’s Kahaani comes to a theatre near you 9th March 2012.
